Dallas lost the most starters for significant amount time for the season. Think about it Spencer 15 games, Ratliff 10 games, waters 10 games, ware missed what 3 games, lee missed half the season, hatcher 1 game, all of starting LB not lee missed time. Missing a game here or there is better than missing consecutive weeks.

I think the "who" is more important than the "how many"

BG and NE I think are the only two teams that have had it worse.

I'd put GB there too who lost their left tackle (Bulaga) for 16 games, their QB (Rodgers) for 8 Games, and their best WR (Cobb) for 10 games?

The Cowboys equivalent is losing Tyron Smith all season, Romo for half the season, and Dez for most of the season. Cowboys might have won 3-4 games.

Would be interested to see what players were included in these numbers. Did they include Ratliff? He is 16 games, Spencer is 15 games, that is half our total right there. Did they count starters for each game or at the beginning of the season? Inquiring minds want to know.

Whoops. I have no idea why I didn't process BG as a simple type for GB. That was sorta obvious!

I need more coffee.
Eh, I get it. Bowling Green was riddled with injuries this year too. Easy mistake.

Good point does a person that takes over a starter spot and get injured count or does it only take into account "actual" starters from preseason and previous season depth charts.

I think the problem for Dallas is that almost ALL of the major injuries were limited to the front seven on defense.
It's kind of nuts that this has happened two years in a row.

Cobb is not their best WR, he is third best, this is equivalent to losing Austin, oh wait we did. We lost more defensive starters for a significant part of the season then played, not only that but we lost many of their back ups.

The secondary was hit pretty hard also. I have no doubts that if we went even half of the season with our preseason starting defense that we would of been at minimum 10 wins.

I think NE disagrees. Gosselin already pointed some of this out in the article.

Cobb is definitely their most dynamic WR on that team. He is easily better than James Jones and any TE they have. The only person that comes close is Nelson.

Bulaga is nowhere close to Smith. They were depending on him this year, but bulaga hadn't shown much up until that point.

Cobb is a weapon, but a weapon behind Jordy Z Nelson and James Jones. Finley also got hurt, but Quarless seems to have better hands. Rodgers was huge obviously.

The cowboys had more guys with Hamstring injuries than most team had injuries.

Ware was pretty much 50percent over a third of the season. Ratliff may aswell have broke his neck in the preseason, and Spencer did nothing. That is 3/4 of our d line in a new defense.

Are you kidding? Cobb was their hands down top guy last season and was ranked as a Top 15 WR by many NFL experts. He wasn't a WR 3 at all. In his second year he had 80 receptions and 8 TDS and turned into the main man for Rodgers. Nothing against Nelson and Jones but Cobb is the most talented.
