DMN: Jason Witten says Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is throwing passes with ‘same zip’

Nobody suggested it was rocket science. What I tried to impart is that it remains to be seen if his back will hold up or if Witten is simply giving him a better opinion than will prove to be the case. His best friend isn't likely to say he's lost a little something, is he? Romo's condition won't be completely obvious until he's gone through a complete season without a repeat of his back problems. Throwing under relaxed conditions and throwing in games are two different things. You're right, it isn't rocket science -- it's more like common sense.

sigh....

and i thought all the doom and gloom wasn't supposed to be dragged into every thread by the usual suspects.

Hear the crickets -- that's still the answer to -- if not Romo who?

It means nothing. What else did we expect his best friend to say?

I was joking about Romo's deep ball last year, how he was off more so then usual.

Of course this quote from Witten is meaningless though, but like someone else said. What we do know is at this point and time last year, Romo wasn't doing as much as he is now, and that's a very good sign.

I still say we go after Manziel...

Tony is getting to old, and has already got broken up like 2-3 times.

i guess manziel is this years MCFADDEN! many people simply believe jerry is going to sell out the draft in order to get him.

to move from 16 to the top 5 would cost us likely 2nd round and next years first, if not more. our offense isn't the problem despite romo being the favorite whipping boy of the times. the problem is romo puts us on top late in the game and our defense forgets the game isn't over yet.

we get a better pass rush, our secondary suddenly looks better. we stop some of those passes that were a breeze for qb's last year, our defense can now stop *their* game winning drive. this is what we need.

not todays answer to tebow.

What is the name of the quarterback who will lead the team to the promise land?

I don't think the usual suspects that are mentioned as top 5 QBs wouldn't have got Dallas to the playoffs. Not Brady, Manning (not Eli, lol), Brees. Maybe Rodgers would be the only guy I could see doing it. But like his team, they would be one and done in the first round especially with our stellar defense.

i'd have to agree. no qb in the nfl today would be the answer. until our defense can keep a late 4th quarter lead, we are where we are now. putting the blame on 1 person is just out of convenience to me.

Its rather easily seen when a QB does not have the zip he once had. Don't need covered receivers or anything like that. Anyone with two eyes and familiar with his past ability can tell. We are not talking rocket science here.

Exactly.

You can tell by how tight the spiral is if his arm strength is the same or not. Within 5 passes you could tell, not exactly brain surgery.

i guess i could give you the same blank look for believing we're going to trade up for him.

lol!

Believing and hoping are 2 different things though. If he slips out the top 5 then i might start believing we can get him. Right now, just hoping my man.
