The entire Cowboys contingent perked up in the morning when Idaho guard-tackle Mike Iupati (6-5, 325) appeared for measuring. Jones mentioned the fierce pass-rushing matchup of Penn State defensive lineman Jared Odrick against Iupati as a highlight of the practice

He is my first choice as well. If he is not there. Their is a chance this guy could be. We need to think about Flozell's replacement at some point.

http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/Iowa_logo.gif Bryan Bulaga, Iowa - Scouting Report
Height: 6-6. Weight: 312.
Projected 40 Time: 5.02.
Projected Round (2010): Top 20 Pick.

2/26/10: Bryan Bulaga's arms measured at just 33 1/4 inches. This shouldn't be a huge deal, but it could be enough to scare some teams off and keep him out of the top 10.

1/7/10: Bryan Bulaga declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. This was a good move; Bulaga saw teammate Dace Richardson's career ruined because of a nasty knee injury. Bulaga is a projected first-round pick, so he was wise to leave school early.

10/24/09: Missed three games with an illness, but is still in the mix to be the second or third tackle to be taken off the board.

2/9/09: A very athletic left tackle from a program known for producing stud offensive linemen, Bryan Bulaga was an All-Big Ten second-teamer as a sophomore. Bulaga started as a true freshman.

Maryland OT creates buzz at weigh-in
Feb 25

By Tim MacMahon

INDIANAPOLIS -- There are no workouts on the first day of the combine, but Maryland LT Bruce Campbell still generated a buzz.

Campbell was the clear winner of the offensive line's weigh-ins. He was measured at 6-6 3/8 and a chiseled 314 pounds with an enormous arm length of 36 1/4 inches.

One veteran personnel man called Campbell's body the most impressive he's ever seen on an offensive lineman.

That doesn't necessarily mean Campbell will be off the board by the time the Cowboys' pick comes up 27th overall. There are still questions about his football IQ and durability after an injury-plagued junior season.

Every NFL scout knew Campbell was an impressive physical specimen. They just got an up-close view of how impressive his physique is this morning.

If a big time player slips past 20 that fits what we're trying to do, I really hope Jerry makes a move.

I said in another thread we're rolling out 2 draft classes and rookies barely play on this team. Lets not be afraid to make a move.

I think we will stay put and believe it is the right thing to do. We have a few needs (safety, OLine, etc.) and someone in those positions will fall to us so we can draft the BPA at a needed position.

What's it going to be then, eh?

With freakish qualities like that, he's certain to be a Raider.

If we want a tackle were going to have to trade up. I don't see one of these top guys lasting until 27.

Or we could just simply reach for a player like USC's Charles Brown. I would hope Free's development will keep us from doing either scenario.

I will say this though, if tackle is a priority, we probably need to get one in the first two rounds. After the first seven-eight prospects, the talent level drops off significantly. We could see a run on tackles in the first with as many as six or so chosen (Okung, Campbell, Davis, Bulaga, Williams and Brown). That will prompt some teams to reach for others like Fox, Saffold, Veldheer, Black and Capers in the second into the third. I do not see much worth investing in after these players.

I would be ok if we didn't get a tackle just as long as we get someone to replace Proctor, McQ and the rest of the dead weight backups.

I agree completely. Too much is made about Adams' status. He is still going to be around for a year. Free did show enough to be given a chance to be the possible left tackle of the future. We have next to nothing in reserve in the interior. Kosier is going into his final contract year, Gurode is getting up in age and I know I do not want Proctor doing anything remotely Cowboys-related except playing with Davis and Colombo in Free Reign.

He might look good, but taking a guy who is wearing two knee braces?? Sorry to be out of the loop but what injuries has the guy gone through to raise durability concerns?

Jerry says we are staying put? We will trade up or down. :laugh2:

Thought the same thing. I really can't see Dallas just sitting on their hands. I don't know about going up but the recent history says there will be some action.

josh,

it's common practice at maryland to avoid injuries....

If Rolle is released I think we will go after him. Too much temptation to fill a need and allow us to concentrate on the OL in the first two rounds. O/W I think we go after Allen and try to move up in the second. I'd prefer to move down in the first for Allen and use the pick(s) to move up in the second. I'd then go after Williams WR in the third. Probably have to find a way to move up for him, too. Just my pets.

Wade is higher on K Hamlin than most though so we may just stick to our guns and go OG then OT in the first two rounds. Just some random thoughts.

They are worn to prevent knee injuries not because of them although the latter applies just not to Campbell.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little skittish about any player named Campbell from the DC area.
