I just wonder how effective he'll be in three years.

I definitely want him back next year, but I'm not sure it's wise to overextend.

Dunno but he is truly a freak of nature to even be as good as he is at 34.

Honestly there is no telling with this guy.

We haven't seen a guy as physically in shape as he stays so it should be interesting to see how long he can go.

Man, imagine what Romo, RedBall and co. could've done with Glenn @ 100%!! He was our best WR in '06 and his speed would have put our offense on par w/ NE if he'd been healthy-and it's not like we were too shabby to begin with!

then we do what we did last time. roster bonus while on the team. we ever have to cut him, no bonus, no cap hit. he did that once before however. not sure how willing he'd be to do it again.

TO contract talks are inevitable, really, after the season he had.

As for Glenn, it bums me out but honestly it's all on him...Cowboy medical staff recommended the microfx surgery early in the season and he refused...Now he needs to have it anyway AND he is further down the rehab schedule and making him obsolete for a 2nd season...Had he done the surgery in early Fall, he might've had a shot at training camp for this upcoming season...He gambled and lost

Nah, I gotta give the nod to Owens in 06, despite the drops he still had the most TDs.

Thank you Terry Glenn but I'm glad you are going. We really need to upgrade our receiving corps and you were a part of the problem with your age and injuries.

what's ironic is that when i suggested this could be glenns last year, i got the old :laugh2: :lmao: :lmao2: from sirpunk saying how foolish it would be and blah blah blah. i'd tell more but this is about where i quit listening. now, it seems this is a common thought and almost a foregone conclusion.

but some people are just too beautiful and can sit in such judgement w/o reprecussions.

He is the one that said Larry Fitzgerald has stats, but isn't that good of a receiver! :lmao2:

Hey brother, I hear ya. I'm already hearing fans defend Crayton and act like he is just suddently going to emerge into this dominant starting receiver. It's the same b.s. Some fans just don't know when to put the homerism aside and accept reality. Crayton is a good receiver but he is #3 not a #2. We need to acquire Roy Williams or some other receiver to take pressure off TO

No, you didn't read the entire thread. I said Fitzgerald is a great receiver but he is a possession type and is not the best receiver for our situation because we have a similar type of receiver in TO. Yes, in an ideal world, I would rather have Fitzgerald than TO as our possession receiver and then add another guy like Roy Williams as our second but TO isn't going anywhere.

Count me as one who thought Glenn had the better '06 simply because he was the most consistent throughout.

T.O. had such an up and down '06 that even leading the team with TDs, I thought he had an average year. This year, T.O. was so much more dynamic, it was unbelievable.

and this i'd agree with if you're filling a shopping list and making sure you have 1 of everything. despite my 'rebuttle' to him, superpunk knows much about the game and has a lot of great insight.

but he's not the son of god either (as he likes to tell some people). for him to just HAHAHA at people for how they think w/o EVEN trying to get some background on the "why" is usually a sign of youth. he's just as quick to want to get the dig on people (i know that feeling well) and sometimes that overrides what he says.

youth.

i just find it funny that some people will just laugh at an idea as being outrageous and when it hits primetime, they're pretty quiet.

I agree. Looking solely at numbers it would be easy to say TO had a very good 06 but he did not have the same impact in 06 as he did in 07 with some dominating games and key plays throughout the season. That is where I think stats can be misleading

Ice

Let's be honest, most of the members here are like that. If you post a differing opinion you are going to get asked to "get new glasses" or some other trite insult. That's just the nature of these forums. I've noticed a lot of the long time members only respond to certain members because it's just a waste of time to filter through the childish smack.

Considering Glenn only cost us a 6th round pick, he was a superb pickup.

I still think his one-handed catch for a TD behind someone's back was one of the best catches I've ever seen. Wish I could find a video of it.

I'd check with theebs to see if he had it. He made a great tribute vid of Glenn last year, so he may very well have it.

Acquiring Glenn wasn't the problem, relying upon his as your starter was. He would have been great as a third receiver but instead we relied upon him to be our starter and he had too many problems with injuries due to his age and history. Glenn was acquired to fit Parcells philosophy of playing veterans versus developing young players on the offense in particular.

Sounds like Jerry wants some money back if Glenn even wants to attempt another go at it.

I'm still trying to figure out why they didn't let Crayton test the open market.. the only logical thought is that they don't think Hurd or Austin are ready yet..

Jerry has pretty much said that he won't draft a receiver.. eluding to a possible FA/Trade pickup..

As long as we don't go into next year with TO and Crayton as 1 and 2, I'm fine..

Is Wes Welker a FA? We need someone in that mold.. which TG would have fit to cause some havoc in the slot.. we have absolutely no quick receivers if TG leaves.. quick.. not fast..

No wes walker is not a FA, I like Berrian in free agency or spend a first on RW and use the other for a CB, and get a RB in the second round.
