Greg Ellis was the one defensive player getting all of the love from his teammates after the Cowboys' win over Cleveland.

Bradie James said the 6-6, 265-pound Ellis was the key to slowing down Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow jr. because he did a terrific job of jamming him at the line of scrimmage.

"Greg was the man today," James said. "We know what he can do rushign the passer, but we needed him to cover today, and he did. He lined up over him and jammed him at the line and it really disrupted him.

"We knew if we could stop their tight end and their running game, we could stop their offense."

I saw Gregg doing that and he was getting really good jams on Winslow. Ellis also seemed to be there in the piles when the Browns were running the ball. He didn't rack up a lot of tackles, but he was there holding down the point of attack on many of their runs. That allowed other defenders to get there and make the tackle. Solid game.

We tried to cover Winslow the first half but made a half time adjustment. Early on we tried to cover Winslow to little effect with safeties and zone coverage. Winslow was to quick for our safeties and linebackers. He was open often early. At half time then we decided to put Greg Ellis on Winslow. What happened is Greg destroyed Winslow on the line pushing him outside taking him out of his route.

I'm glad Jerreh doesn't read some of the stoopid suggestions made on this board by some of the fans... like trading Ellis for Jason Taylor.

At this stage of their careers and based upon the jobs they are asked to do, Ellis is more valuable to the Dallas defense than Jason Taylor would have been.

Ain't it great to finally have smart defensive coaching after years of the Zimster? Not to mention the head coaches he worked for.

Jason Taylor will be the NFC East Tackle whipping boy. He is so undersized it aint even funny. Colombo and Flozell will push him around just like the other tackles in our division will

Are you saying Taylor isn't strong enough to jam Winslow? Jason Taylor can still do better than Greg Ellis.

And if your going to talk about JT performing against the Cowboys, Greg Ellis matched up against the Cowboys offensive line wouldn't do that great either...
