I just wish I was as broke as Jerry is. Because of Jerry is broke then I must be down right poor. :laugh2:

JJT gets dumber every day:mad:

He's totally copying Doomsay's dumb post from last week almost word for word.

Evidence that Jerry is cutting back.

-- He goes to The Sizzler now and orders the house steak for $7.99.

-- He uses Scotch tape to pull the wrinkles back from his face.

-- He put toll booths in the hallways at Valley Ranch.

-- He hired his grandchildren to build the previous indoor practice facility using an erector set.

-- He told Drew Pearson, "We just can't afford to put you in the Ring of Honor ... those letters are expensive."

-- He served a pot of beans to the media on draft day.

-- He plans to use David Buehler at least six different positions next fall, which will allow him to go with a 46 man roster.

-- He called the Salvation Army and said, "Hey, I was there for you all these years. What do you have for me?"

-- He kept Wade Phillips as his head coach.

if he was broke why wouldn't he just keep the players here instead of paying them to go away and do nothing. T.O. is going to make damn near 12 million this year alone

TO or any other player released doesn't get another penny from Jerry..with the exception of Greg Ellis who has a $1.5 million guarantee clause in his contract.

When you hear someone say this player still counts this much on our cap, that's "dead" money. It's their signing bonus (or other bonuses) pro-rated. You take their signing bonus, divide it by the amount of years in the contract and then multiply that number by the amount of years left in the contract.

There is an old saying that says "I wish for all of you what I wish for my self"

JJT only wishes the worst when with anything concerning the Cowboys.

Hinting that Jerry Jones might be "broke" without any real financial accounting facts is the kind of negative energy that is JJT's make-up.

If Jerruh had NEEDED the money he would have made a deal for the naming rights. The fact that he did not tells me he is not hard up.

This kind of "reporting" was an unforeseeable consequence of not allowing the media into spring practices.

Ever hear of "guaranteed money"? Any part of a contract can be guaranteed depending on verbage and will be paid out to the player.

"Dead money" is a term regarding monies being paid out, contractually obligated to a player who is not on the team, or to salary cap expenditures either real or existing solely on paper.

That last loan of 350 million was close to the amount that Jerry expected to receive for long term naming rights to the new stadium. That could mean that these loan payments are an unanticipated expense.

He could have gotten a deal for around $15 mil a year for 20 years. He did not go for it. He wants at least $20 mil a year. ANd he is willing to wait for the economy to recover so he gets it. If he HAD to get the money he would have made the deal - ergo he is not hard up.

Hey, billionaires and millionaires go broke a lot more than people think. Specially in an economy like this if they get overleveraged. Do I think Jones is broke? No, but it isn't unlikely that he is feeling the pinch with the overpriced stadium and the lack of big money rolling in.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me that JJ is watching his bottom line more closely than usual, esp in this difficult environment. Heck, who isn't?

That said, I'm sure he's got the money to pay Ware, and I don't disagree with the moves he's done this off-season.

This article doesn't make sense, IMO.

My wife, especially re her renos, ugh,
