Tight end Jason Witten said the veterans had a great time razzing the rookies the other day.

Witten said each rookie had to stand up and inform the other players how much their signing bonus was. When Mike Jenkins told the tough crowd $3 million, Witten said he needed a new agent.

Then Witten remembered in this new era it's all about guaranteed money. So Jenkins had to give his guaranteed money, which was about $8 million. All of the other players followed suit by giving their guaranteed money as well.

Then there was sixth-round pick Erik Walden, who received a $125,000 bonus.

"It was $70,000 after taxes," he said. "I felt like I had been robbed."

Isn't that something. 70 thousand, after taxes, for just his bonus is more than a majority of the people in the world make in an entire year.

Funny stuff.

He's lucky he gets paid in Texas where there is no state tax, otherwise another 10 or 15 thousand would go to the state!

I think Walden was joking

Its waaaaaaaaaaay more funny when you don't explain it....that way people come in here, say their stuff, and don't realize Walden was joking...

Because then I get to laugh twice.

yea, but it does suck to see a huge chunk of your money go into a void of government spending.

yea so he went to college for 4 years for 3 years of $75k. whereas for the rest of us, careers can last 30-50 years and we haven't wasted the prime of our lives learning skills we won't be able to use. $75k wouldn't even pay for another degree.

Imagine how he will feel if the tax rate goes up to 50%-60% for his income level like one candidate is advocating for.

From where, a private Ivy league school? Most state schools it would be about $25k, maybe $40 if out of state tuition.
