IRVING - Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Friday that running back Joseph Randle is still away from the team working through his personal issues. Randle won't be at the club's Valley Ranch team headquarters Friday.

One of those issues is that the NFL will soon discipline Randle for violating the personal conduct policy in February, when he was investigated for a domestic violence incident in his hometown of Wichita, Kan.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Friday on KRLD-FM that the NFL's review of Randle's incident in February is actually ongoing today.

Randle won't be active Sunday against Seattle because of a nagging back injury. Darren McFadden will make his first start for the Cowboys.

Jones was asked Friday if Randle's status with the Cowboys is now in jeopardy.
"No, this would be way ahead of that type of consideration," Jones said. "The answer is now relative to the team."

What does this even mean?

He runs the ball as effectively as Murray. He has a 4.5 YPC the last two years 6.7 and 4.1. He has had WAY fewer carries. They just have different styles and are different niche back. He just lacks good judgment.

I would never put this guy in Murray's class. Murray was smooth and a glider on the field. He had a way about him finding the small crease in the line and was able to get skinny. He was also able to setup his blocks effectively and that helped get those dirty yards.

When the "player" runs he looks like his body movement is all over the place. He does not find that small crease they way Murray did. I have yet to see him setup his blockers the way Murray did. There is not a chance given the same number of carries that he equals Murray's production.

Murray is a class act and professional, he always carried himself as a classy football player and a team guy. IMO Murray was very underrated here by some fans. Did he have his faults? Sure he did, he have a fumbling problem and a history with injuries, but he was a very good back and the chemistry with the OL was a thing of beauty and we saw that on full display on Sunday with DMC.

In less than 100 days, Joseph Randle will no longer be a Cowboy regardless.

He is under contract for 2016 at 675k. No reason to cut him until we can find someone better than Gus Johnson.

I think if Dallas drafts a back they keep McFadden around and cut Randle. Could be similar to why the Steelers cut Blount because they didnt want him influencing Bell anymore

Am I the only one that believes he split in a huff over losing his starting job?

I agree with this. I'd add that Murray has better lateral movement, patience, and vision around the LOS helping him find the cutback lane. Plus, he has more power. I'm not really sure if Randle does anything better other than top speed. It seems that Randle is able to take it to the house better than Murray (despite Murray's excellent Combine speed). But other than that, Murray has everything Randle lacks.

Whenever I watch the top RBs in the league, the one thing that stands out to me is patience. They don't panic behind the LOS; instead, they flow, keep their feet moving, move forward with small steps, then explode once the blocking develops. LeVeon Bell is probably the best at this; he reminds me of Marshall Faulk back there.

So far, our RBs seem to slam into a mass of bodies as soon as they touch the football for a 1 yard gain. That's perfect if it's 3rd and 1, but on every down? Maybe it's the way the coaches are telling them to hit the hole this year, but last year, Murray would give our OL a little more time.

Anyone else have a feeling that this could be Randle's last season with the Cowboys.

Oh it will be. I have no doubts about it. We'll be drafting the next "future" triplets on offense come May 2016 with our first three picks.

Did you hear the story about him calling police to his house because he thought his Girlfriend was missing? This happened the day that the media claims he went AWOL.

What does this even mean?

Meaning Jerry is thinking he could still milk a bit out of this guys skill set before cutting him.

You might remember he thought the same of Roy Williams, the receiver.

Vegas won't even put a line to this way of thinking.
