In the battle for LB3 vs CB3 you have: Claiborne vs Hitchens, Gachkar, Wilson, Nzeocha.

Our LB depth is actually quite good I feel. I really like Gachkar's game and he is my preferred MIKE based on last years play. This spot has as good a shot as any for improvement from within.

I am intrigued by the rookie CB Brown's athleticism. I'm interested to see how he can do.

DL is going to be better off than people think. Mincey and Selvie were our 2014 ends while DLaw was hurt most of the year. No real depth for a rotation. With this roster even with our 2nd round picks suspended we are 2 deep at every position allowing Marinelli to do his rotation.

I will not argue that. Yet the coaches and many here defended him nonstop.

Many here said he wasn't as bad as all that. I don't remember anyone saying he was a good player. He's a marginal, marginal starter. Our lack of depth and holes kept him in the game and limited the defenses we could play. We just went after higher priority positions first. He's finally been replaced.

Playing a one gap shoot the gap defense primarily is not optimal but about all the guy could realistically play for a lot of snaps. It's problematic in run defense.

I believe there is enough there at DL for Marinelli to get by with smoke and mirrors....for maybe 2 games. A lot of twists, stunts and timely blitzes will help mask the undermanned DL. Sooner or later, opposing teams catch on through film study and prepare for these things. Hopefully by that time, we'll have 3/4 of our projected starting DL.
