Agree, I would Neva Eva take any RB in the top 5.. Maybe not even first round. They a dime a dozen..

everyone says that but it isn't any more true than any other position.

RB touches the ball more than any non-QB and people want to skimp.

It is like putting re-treads on a Corvette.

Elliot at 4 isn't an option for the Cowboys according to most sources (mainly DC.com crew). Especially with some ok rb's available in later rounds, and next years apparently insane rb depth. I'd think option 5 is Myles Jack

You are right about Elliott. But option 3 should be Jack IMO.

I'd rather go all D.

If I had my own preference, I would start with Tunsil and then go all defense, with a flyer later for WR and RB.

As to a WR, RB, and DT...that would merely take an initial trade down in the first for who is being targeted in the first. Then using both seconds for the other two.

I wouldn't sneeze at a 3rd round on for the rest of the defense.

I'm calling it: we make a trade with the Rams.

We make the trade
Pick 2 'blue chippers'
Tony goes down week 4
McCoy wins a few as back up
8-8 2016 season, picking 18th overall
We trade MORE than we received in the 2016 draft to try and get a QB and we're 1 year behind

Trading down in this draft if Wentz or Goff are available is absolutely stupid

I didn't rank them, I figure those are the five best options. Honestly, I'd be ok with drafting Bosa, but not ecstatic, and I'd be perfectly fine with the rest of the options. The only thing I'd hate is a trade up in first round (very unlikely), or going way off board and picking someone at 4 they could have had at say 10th with a trade back (like a Hargreaves or Treadwell or something)

Not if Wentz or Goff is rated lower in the draft. If they think Wentz or Goff is the clear choice, franchise guy and is close to or best available then you take him. You don't reach on players including QB if the value isn't there.

Plenty of QBs in lower first round and on become franchise QBs. GB didn't get Rodgers by reaching, Seattle didn't get Wilson by reaching, NE didn't get Brady by reaching.........Browns got Manziel by reaching but Minnesota played it out and got Teddy B after Manziel at the end of the first.

What's really funny is in a great draft theres maybe 10-12 real blue chip players. We're going to get 2 in a shallow draft by trading down? And even more so, why not 4 since we probably get both the Rams 2nds in a trade down plus our 2nd. It's so simple, why don't teams just do that every year?

Is he an all-pro talent? Probably not. He would make this team better, though. Not significantly better but better. I'd rather have Ramsey if they go defense; this kid can be all-world with a solid front seven in front of him.

If he isn't a All Pro talent then we shouldn't be looking at him with that pick. Ramsey and Jack are going to be all pro talents barring injury.
According to the draft pick value chart, our 1st is worth 1800, and their first is 1050. So that would net us, if going by the chart, their;

1st: 1050
2nd: 470
3rd: 210
4th: 80
Total: 1810

But doubt it would go like that.

Yeah no one never goes by that chart. I'd definitely take a 1st, 2nd and 3rd or even a 1st and 2nd. I'm not interested in a 1st and 3rd though.

Thank you. And there are a few more examples too. Ponder was a reach. Jake Locker was a reach. Blaine Gabbert was a reach. That whole 1st round teams panicked when Cam was off the board and went full idiot. EJ Manuel was a different draft but he too was a reach.

People will sit here and say that the Russell Wilsons of the world are the exception to the rule but i'm starting to even disagree with that. Bridgewater and Derek Carr were later round guys. Andy Dalton was.

You can find QB's all over the draft. The Cowboys simply haven't even TRIED. And if you believe their word they had interest in Russell and Dalton coming out. Clearly you'd love to have prospects like a Winston or a Mariota if you have a shot at them. But there are none in this draft.

If you hit with the QB, it's a much bigger jackpot than hitting with a DB or LB. You are never going to get a 100% for sure franchise QB in the draft. You have to play the best odds. So while Wentz or Goff or Lynch might not be as great of odds as a Luck, there is still much better odds than drafting some mid-round dude.

If Wentz or Goff were coming out last year they would've been mid round to early 2nd round picks.

And I do agree that its far better to hit on a franchise QB but the odds are sure slimmer to hit on a QB then it is a DB or LB. IN my eyes I have can't miss guys that can come in right now and be upgrades to this team as opposed to a backup QB. The decision is pretty much simple to me. If you speak of winning now how else will you add talent aside from overpaying and overspending in free agency on players previous teams didn't want?

No thanks, casmith. Maybe if he was as good as Mack. Jack ain't no Mack.

I don't know, I like linebackers who are capable of covering slot WRs man to man. Reminds me of a guy named Darren who was pretty good - and a linebacker in college.
