He could barely walk after the hit and his one arm appeared to just be hanging. Why they let him play is beyond me. He should sit this week and not try and be Superman.

if the play calling was better and we won in OT, youd be singing a different tune.

I'm not a doctor nor have I played one on TV, I have no idea if there is anything more than a deep bruise, there is a lot of speculation from the outside of what it could be but no one knows. What we do know is if he can deal with the pain and discomfort he will play. My guess is Romo will play.
But, did you stay at Holiday Inn Express last night? If so, you're qualified!

Never bought the contusion story. DMN had a photo of him laying on the ground after the hit. Grimace on his face looked like more than a contusion. Looked like I hurt so bad that I cant move.

From the replay i was guessing the weight of the player coming over Tony put a lot of stress on the lower back. Given that he is leaning over forward but had one knee down and the other foot still planted you can see he was supporting the weight of the Commander player while the lower back would be stretched from bending over - meaning that the spinal errector muscles would be stretched toward their limit and in a weak position as opposed to being contracted. That is leaving them vulnerable to a tear or muscle pull. Also if there was any twisting motion that would greatly increase the possibility of a tear or pull.

Once but that was to be an engineer not a doctor. lol

I think a lot of our brethren on this site must have stayed at Holiday Inn Express, because we sure have a lot of coaching/front office exec/doctor/prognosticating experts on here. :)

I'm not either, but I stayed in a Holiday Express....it didn't help...so I agree, I think he plays. :)

I'm pretty sure it was the knee hitting his back. In the replay you can see that as soon as the knee hits, it almost hyper-extends because the contact was so hard. You can't see that from the picture in this thread.

IMO, there was some forceful contact made by the knee to his lower back/kidney region.

I'm not going to guess as to what's going on with Romo. Everything I have heard so far suggests that this injury is not season ending, so that's good news.

We are 6-2 with our bye week coming soon.

Get Weeden ready and start him against the Cardinals and then the lowly Jaguars and get Romo rested up and as healthy as possible for the stretch run. It's obvious that Romo will more than likely be dealing with alot of pain on Sunday and it's probable that he'll be limited in some of the things he normally can do. Weeden is a backup, plain and simple, but has a cannon for an arm, has gotten tons of reps since the mini camps, and has the luxury to manage the game with a great running game.

It's really not that hard in my opinion.

In the realm of sports, some fans have a natural tendency to expect the worst possible scenario in order to protect themselves against disappointment.

Cowboy fans have had years of disappointments. From reading on here I don't think most think he will play Sunday. Dr. Jones said there is nothing medically stoping him from playing. Tony's a tough guy. I hope he can go. We'll see. He's not even clarifying what is wrong with him exactly.
