The icing on the cake was the game-winning drive Romo orchestrated. That had to hurt them more than the actual loss.

Just goes to show, that when the media beats a certain idea into our heads, even players who play the game will be sucked in by it.

New York Giants whine about refs, seem surprised Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo didn't screw up

The Giants talked trash all week before their game against the Cowboys.

And New York players continued to make headlines after losing 24-21 to Dallas on Sunday.

On the referees (via the NYPost)

Terrell Thomas: “Honestly, some of them calls were a little iffy. They’re calling holding calls on the back side, they don’t never call that in the NFL. The roughing the passer [on Mathias Kiwanuka], I understand you got to protect the quarterback, but I think it’s getting out of hand. If you watch the replay, he didn’t even get hit. We’re not going to blame the refs … but it seems like ours came in tougher situations, and when you give the refs opportunity to call a penalty, that’s when you’re going to lose, and we did that.”

Victor Cruz: “He [Scandrick] always holds on every play, so it’s always borderline whether it’s a pass interference or a holding or whatever, but I just don’t think about that.”

I thought the game was unevenly called for both sides.

Felt like I was doing this the whole time watching it:

"Where's the flag? That's a penalty!"

"What? How can you call that a penalty!"

It seemed like the illegal contact/pass interference calls were especially arbitrary.

"Seem surprised Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo didn't screw up"
This line made me chuckle.

Jason Pierre-Paul: “He’s a good quarterback. He normally makes mistakes, but a game like this when you really need it, you don’t know what’s going to happen. He drove the ball on us. That last drive, we couldn’t get him off the field.”

Antrel Rolle: “Tony Romo is a great quarterback. They rely on him for a reason. ... People look at him and say, you know, Tony is going to screw something up in the fourth quarter. But Tony is a great quarterback. You got to take your hat off. He made the plays when he needed to make them.”

They actually think he's a very good QB, but what do they know? It's not like they face him or anything ...

Shakespeare himself could not describe eloquently enough how much i HATE that franchise.

I use to HATE Pittsburgh more than any team in the NFL, until Mara got his pal Goddell to slap that bogus cap penalty on us and watching Gomer Eli close his eyes twice and chuck up 2 bs throws to win Super Bowls so they've taken that spot for me as well.

No Victor. Clearly you don't think about right? Then why are you blabbiing about it then if you don't think about it.

These Giants are a piece of work. First they drone on about how they are guaranteeing a win. Than when the can't back up their talk, they ***** about the refs.

A agree with Scandrick. I respect Coughlin as a coach, but why does he let his players flap their gums like this. It makes him look like he has no control over them.[/b]

As much as I hate everything NYG related, I actually kinda sorta don't mind Rolle.

Well, as long as you don't think about it, Victor. :)

It's a total joke that the Gnats are complaining about the refs. The refs kept their drives alive with bogus calls, especially that illegal contact one on Carr. And not reviewing Dez's catch was just inexcusable.

There was some serious home cooking going on.....................and then they call the refs out when they still cant get it done....................Hey Giants, shut the hell up. If it was not for the refs the game would have been a blowout.

Does this idiot not remember the cardinals game from 2011????

If the refs don't give them that game and a fantom PI call in the Patriots regular season game, they don't even make the playoffs and there is no second super bowl. the refs LITERALLY gave them that cardinals game in 2011.

Obviously you do think about that, princess, or you wouldn't be whining to the media about it. Like Erik Williams once told a young Michael Strahan: Take your *** whoopin' like a man.

Like most that know about the Giant's SB's, it was not the great Eli that won those games. But, I hope the Giants learn some humility for talking ****, and trying to write a check they cannot cash!

I'm not sure what is more embarrassing to the Giants? Losing the game, or getting the trash talk thrown back into their face. I would be more embarrassed talking about trash!

I was shocked they called the roughing the passer, Romo does not seem to get a lot of those to go his way.

Yeah I was shocked they called it, not because it wasn't but because Romo never gets that call. I think the call was made more because he had his neck twisted majorly but Kiwanuka.
