Cornerback Terence Newman is a fan of Bowles, who joined the Cowboys in 2005 and worked with Parcells with the New York Jets.

"He played in the league, and I think he has an understanding of different things," Newman said. "Instead of running the same thing every week, he knows teams will figure that out and understands you have to change things up."

yeah, but when Newman was asked about Parcells he said he definitely wanted to see him return as coach...you'd think if he thought Parcells was the reason everything was the same every week, he wouldnt be wanting him back...

It's interesting that TNew is the only person really willing to say these things...for all the "leadership" the other guys have TNew is the one willing to face the media. Although I guess Bradie James also has a radio show, which I never listen to.

Anyway you have to put some stock into what he is saying, but I don't know if everybody agrees with it. Maybe the front 7 got a little different coaching than the secondary. Anyway it's definitely interesting to watch this situation unfold.

Wow that is an interesting quote by TNew, it seems he was not a big fan of the gameplanning week to week.

I would imagine you would also have to be pretty stupid to come out and say you don't want Parcells to be there next season before he's made up his mind. Talk about being in the dog house if he stays.

It wouldn't surprise me if they do give the DC job to Bowles, but if not Bowles, who else do you think they will offer the DC job to?

guess it depends on if Parcells is back...if it is Parcells I tink it will be Bowles...if he's gone who knows

I'm not convinced Parcells will be here

That's a pretty damning statement.

I like the truth-telling Newman though.

Hopefully we will see a more aggressive style.

Maybe the lack of change the last quarter of the season is what set this whole thing in the downward spiral. In the perspective of the players and their lack of emotion.

It is going to be a long offseason.

Before you get too giddy, these quotes come from the article on Zimmer's departure in the Star Telegram:

"I am not too surprised," Cowboys linebacker Bradie James said. "I think he got another opportunity to do his own thing. We are going to miss him."

Said Greg Ellis, "I am glad for Zim. Maybe he can get into a situation where he can be happy about what he's doing. He's a good coach. I believe he is going to have success and I enjoyed my time with him."

If the reason for the failure to adjust our D opponet to opponet is all on Zimmer then why did Parcells not get in his face and force him to mix it up?If Zimmer was merely doing what he was told by Parcells what is there to indicate it won't be more of the same next year regardless of who the new DC is?In either scenario Parcells has to shoulder the blame. Either for not watching over his staff or for being to heavy handed with his staff.

I also heard he had something to do with the holocaust.

Tuna always wants to win the individual matchups. thinks that's all that you need with smart, penalty/fumble free play.

our DC needs to think outside that, know the 3-4 and scheme week to week.

i don't want Tuna as our DC (he can pick players that someone else can coordinate) and until i hear otherwise, Zimmer had alot of control over our D and ran it.

you can't blame tuna for the D lining up out of position and late to the line/man as evident in the seattle game.

Well considering Fergy said some guys on this D arent even aware of down and distance I'm not so sure I wouldnt feel safer just calling the same thing most of the time anyway. ;)
