DeMarcus Ware doesn't get any MVP votes

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips
There was some talk about DeMarcus Ware becoming the first defensive player to be named MVP since Lawrence Taylor. That talk fizzled when the Cowboys flopped in December again to miss the playoffs.

Ware didn't end up getting any MVP votes. Neither did any other defensive player.

Colts QB Peyton Manning was the runaway MVP, getting 32 of 50 votes. Also receiving votes: Dolphins QB Chad Pennington (4), Falcons RB Michael Turner (4), Chargers QB Phillip Rivers (2), Titans RB Chris Johnson (1) and Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (1).

IMO, part of the MVP consideration should inlcude value to your team. I know Romo sputtered ... again ... down the stretch, but there's no denying how valuable he is to the success of the team. Had the Boys not fallen apart, I think he would've been in the discussion. Just a thought.

Romo didn't play like a MVP candidate, sorry but your point is weak.

There really wasn't any other choice. He kept a team decimated with injuries afloat, and play tremendous football over the last 9 games. I heard he completed something like 75% during their winning streak.

ESPN reports that James Harrison received three votes as did AP.

Here's a hint. 32+4+4+2+1+1 = doesn't make 50

That's probably a precursor to Harrison winning DPOY.

Romo was starting to play well before the Pittsburgh game. If he had played well in December, he probably would've finished near the top. Unfortunately, that's an IF that's yet to happen with him.

I don't care for IF's, sorry. Hypotheticals go out the window when the QB constantly comes up short. Romo isn't an elite QB, sorry.

That wasn't his point genius.

The season for Dallas is over. Every single thing posted from now til next year is a big IF. Since you're not interested in discussing IFs, I guess you'll disappear until then. See ya.

Manning deserved it, though I think Michael Turner meant just as much in Atlanta.

I think Tank Johnson should have gotten MVP. (Most Valuable Parasite)

He thinks he is a beast, but the only thing beastly about him is his ability to speard a cancer like attitude around the locker room.

Hate to say it... especiaily living in Indy....

But I think its going to be a Manning Bowl this year.

And that would be fine.

The only thing I care about the rest of the season is that someone beats the Eagles. The stars seem to be lining up for them, and I admit, I'm scared.

Once they lose, I really don't care what else happens.

I guess I wouldn't mind seeing the Falcons win it. Great story and all. Would really burn Michael Vick, and he deserves it.

But overall, please someone, anyone, beat the Eagles.

I have a feeling Ware is going to get hosed for the second year in a row. At least Harrison is a worthy alternative, unlike Sanders last season.

i think you are right.

me, I understand why votes would be more likely to go to the guy on a team that doesn't suck.
