This will not hold, they'll let Callahan walk before OTAs begin.

Of course Callahan isn't thrilled. Who can blame him?

It was a mistake for Jerry to not let him leave. Forcing him to stay when he doesn't want to be there is an invitation for even more dysfunction than there already is.

Jason just doing what he's been trained to do. This is the way he's been handled, so he will handle his staff the same way...

If Linehan doesn't pan out, will he turn into a Jerry move just like Kiffin and Callahan?

If true that Garrett insisted on the change, than that is a good thing. But before I buy into this new tough Garrett, I'll need to see it applied to where it's really needed - towards Jerry and the whole dysfunctional way our organization is run. Insist on some changes in that area and I'll become pro-Garrett. Otherwise, yawn!

Given Garrett's more legitimate ties to Linehan, no. The Kiffin ties were relatively minor in comparison.

I still laugh when I read this nonsense about a power play. Since how is Jones conceding giving his pet trainee what he wants in his final season considered a "win"?

Jones has a vested interest in having Garrett succeed. If he fails it makes him look all the more foolish for hiring him and grooming him all these years.

Scott Linehan might be a small upgrade over Callahan, however it's not much based on his track record.

Yes but there are likely personal and interpersonal reasons for the change. Perhaps Garrett and Callahan disagreed with the way things were done. In that case you put a guy under you that is loyal to you and you like and you're more comfortable attacking the enemy with that command structure.

If this IS true, looks like Red is doing a Munchak.................if this is his last season has HC, he wants HIS GUYS where HE wants them. I think it has become more obvious as well that Callahan was a Jerry pick.

If Red were "doing a Muchak", he'd have quit long before this year. Like when Jerry took his playcalling away from him.

Why would they let him walk. If he makes a stink then other teams will hear of it and he'll be seen as NOT a team player and that will hurt him. If he stays and does a good job with the OL then more teams will want him. I wouldn't let him go until I knew Pollack was up to his speed.

Yeah I tend to agree. I think his reputation is a bit sketchy at this point, so in consideration of his career he's gonna play nice. He's in a position to succeed as a line coach so do the best job you can. I mean isn't Dave Wandstandt the special teams coach for the Bill? Talk about a fall.

You stop thinking with your brain, ModderOne. Only mass hysteria, pandemonium, wailing and gnashing of teeth is allowed here.

I don't get it. How can this be a Jason move? What was all the crap in previous years? Who brought in Ryan? Who then brought in Kiffin? Callahan? Now, after 27 other coaching changes, now its Jason's turn to pick his staff. Lol…ok.

Is it so messed up…no one knows what the heck they are doing.
