Call the defense? Honestly, with Carter I wouldn't burden him with anything besides his assignments....I don't think he can handle both. One of the things Broaddus mentioned about Hitchens was that he seemed to pick up and know what the assignments were and that it was obvious watching him on tape in college that he was very smart in that regard.
Carter had the wired-up helmet and called the plays against the Titans.

Hitchens didn't do anything last game. He looked overwhelmed. I wish we drafted Telvin Smith. 8 tackles, 1 sack for him so far in limited snaps.

Translation....if he participates in a final walk through, he plays.

My take....sit him if not healthy. It's the Rams with a 3rd string QB. Ro should not be the difference in the game. Get him healthy.

If he's hurt then say he's hurt. I'm hoping it's just like training camp. ... not forcing him but trying to determine if it's just soreness. ...trying to get him through 16 games...taking it slow.

From a BTB article on week 2 LB play.............. Rolando McClain definitely stood out the most and you can see watching him why he was a top ten pick. But I thought Bruce Carter actually played the best. He was the steadiest, both in coverage and against the run, even if he didn't make any splash plays. Both linebackers need to do a better job maintaining gap discipline, but if Week 2 is an indication of the future then linebacker, the position I was most worried about going into the season looks like it could be strength.

I really hate to point this out. But, round: 5 / pick: 144. That kind of leaves a mark.

oh please please don't remind me. a lot of us in the draft zone wanted him. broaddus made it seem like we had interest but we never pulled the trigger. just listening to him talk for 30 seconds, he's an alpha leader that would have been great for the locker room.

I believe they're referred to as two different groups, but I'm not entirely sure.

IIRC, part of the hip flexers kinda run towards your spine and may even attach to your spine. I dunno, undergrad anatomy was a long time ago and I wasn't all that great when it came to staring at old cadavers that looked like beef jerky.

Hip flexors are the sartorius, iliacus, and psoas.
Groin muscles are the gracilis and adductor longus.
All are attached to the pelvis.

Why must we assume there are mental issues? If we find out then too bad. Unless we hear otherwise then the guy is dinged up like most NFL players are from game to game.

All strains will be day to day; you can never tell when all the discomfort will resolve, how the tissue will respond to therapy.
Sprains show up on MRI, and a timetable can be placed on their resolution -- usually 4-8 weeks.

Man this sucks because if it's even a semi serious strain that's a terrible one to have. It can take a few weeks to get right and there is absolutely no way you can play through that so the mental crap is just stupid. If you've never pulled or strained a groin musle then you just don't realize how bad those are. There is no way to push off, cut, or run with one. It's not possible.

I hope it's not a really bad one.
