Columnist Kevin Sherrington answered questions in a chat Friday. Here are some highlights.

Question: If the Cowboys miss the playoffs, can they rebound easily since they already have what they're missing -- Romo, he's just hurt.

Kevin Sherrington: Well, you're pushing everything another year down the road, so if they miss the playoffs this year, that's not good. Because if you can't make the playoffs in this division, you're really stinking it up. Even with Romo out. I'd expect they may surprise a team or two over the next few weeks before Romo gets back. Nine wins can probably still win the division.

Question: What's the weirdest part about this Cowboys team? The fact that they have so many players doing stupid things (Hardy, Randle, etc.), or that they keep them around?

Kevin Sherrington: When the Cowboys are winning, we don't notice what these guys do so much. Hardy probably wouldn't be going off on an assistant coach on the sideline, for instance. Or at least I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that. As for Randle, I've never understood the Cowboys' fascination. I didn't think he was ready for the job, didn't understand why McFadden got so few carries going into the Giants game. If you're trying to replace Murray, McFadden more closely resembles the model. In no way shape or form does Randle, on or off the field. Don't know if that was Jerry's call or Jason's.
