After family, if there's one thing Jerry loves more than the hogs or the cowboys, it's money. At the end of the day, like any businessman, he will make money decisions. That does not mean he will always be right as we cowboy fans know all too well.

I never said Jerry had to have exclusively Razorbacks on this team, that's a ridiculous notation and you are foolish to twist my words and suggest it. You are making an even bigger fool of yourself by quizzing me on the Razorback's Jerry has draft because it's a point I've already pointed out. I specifically said Jerry coveted one particular Razorback(Darren McFadden) and when he couldn't touch him, he drafted the next best thing(Felix Jones) in his eyes. There is no, "if McFadden remains", he IS staying. I think you know this and so you are making excuses for losing the argument. Being the best option for Elliott is of course the best reason to keeping him and the original point I was making but It doesn't hurt that that Jerry and DMac are both Razorbacks.

No. I didn't say he had to exclusively have Razorbacks. I pointed out that his love for them has led to him drafting just one in his time as owner. Like with your premise about what I was saying, what you believe seems to only exist in your head. There's simply been no evidence to support your argument.

I'm going to leave it alone, though, because it's impossible to convince someone who holds a delusional belief despite clear evidence to the contrary.

I won't be surprised if McFadden is kept because he's the best option behind Elliott. I will be surprised if he's kept as Jerry's pet Razorback if Morris and Jackson play well enough to bump him from the roster. The reasons I would be surprised are 1) because McFadden only has one year remaining on his deal and 2) McFadden is the only running back with any trade value at this point based on last season.

I'll leave it at that.

I'm sure you will leave it at that....

...until I get the last word. Funny how all I was saying is McFadden won't be the odd man out when it comes to the RB position. Now you agree but you still have to have something to argue about. Whether it's because he's the best option to Elliott or Jerry's loyalty to a fellow Razorback... he will be staying and he'll get a new contract next year unless he decides to retire. Maybe now this nonsense about trading McFadden can end.

Can you really leave it at that?

I disagree about DMac being a punishing type of RB. IMO, he is more of s finesse type of RB that is not made for this offense. The blocking scheme has to be changed last year so that he could run behind it. DMac does not break many tackles and he is quite easy to bring down. He has never been a physical runner. Since Morris is very good in this blocking scheme , I see no need in keeping DMac on the roster. He doesn't bring anything to the team that they don't already have, except the others are better. He has lost just enough speed to no longer be a big run threat and his injury problems will return at some point.

Morris is sort of an enigma. Based on some reports, Morris is a good fit for this offense as a rusher, in our offensive blocking scheme with the ball in his hands, including being a good short yardage/goal line running back. What he reportedly is NOT is a good pass catcher which is very limiting and is a much bigger drawback if you don't have a back on the roster that can perform that task. If Morris was the backup, and Zeke were to be out for an extended period it definitely wouldn't help his case to serve as the backup. Moreover, he is reported to be a below average pass protector, while McFadden is an above average pass blocker.

I'm not sure that we can assume that McFadden will give way to Morris for a roster spot. It could happen, but I don't see it as a foregone conclusion.

I think we can find a rookie or unsigned vet to do that for the minimum, who will also play STs.....2.1m for a RB3 is absurd......

McFadden was exactly what his contract indicated..a bridge player. Unfortunately for him, that bridge lasted one year. We now have talented RBs on this roster better suited for the Zone scheme. He didn't cost us much and if we can get anything back in a trade.. Well, that'll be a bonus. Thank you McFadden for being an all around Pro.

We HOPE we have a talented RB on the roster. He may not be everything one folks expect.

I hope he is, but he hasn't had a single NFL carry.
