NO! Matt Jones' name shouldnt ever be mentioned in the same sentence as the Dallas Cowboys. Last thing we need is a drug head WR who isnt that good to begin with.

Maybe, if we also hire a full time security guard for him to fight with.

Hell Yes..........Matt "Scarface" Jones....could bring the White House back to Dallas.

cowboyjoe are you Nors in disguise? I mean you live on the draft forum and bring up tons of obscure players the way Nors used to.

Does anyone else feel that this thread is extremely Norsesque?

Oh and Silver Bear....is KW still in the league? wasnt he stuck in NO wasting away at the end of the roster?

Why not? He's got speed, he's big and strong, isn't that what Austin is?

Nope, he spent 4 years with the Bungles, then the Pats offered him a rather large contract (then they went out and got Randy Moss, LOL)... they released him after last season...

Given that the Bungles are the Bungles, and the Pats have that rep for personnel evaluation, he may be worth at least looking at...

By now, you should have figured out that Judas is a Cowboys hating troll, posing as a Boys fan...

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

The Cowboys want to keep Miles Austin, but the Jets can make that very difficult to do if they put a poison pill in their contract offer to the restricted free agent.

If that happens, the Cowboys get the Jets' second-round pick (52nd overall), and then what?

Todd Archer took a look at the likelihood of finding an immediate impact receiver in the second round.

Another option would be to sign troubled ex-Jaguar Matt Jones to a low-risk contract.

There was speculation that Jerry Jones would go after his fellow ex-Razorback as soon as the Jaguars released Jones, a 2005 first-round pick who has had a disappointing career and is dealing with legal troubles stemming from a drug arrest. That hasn't happened.

But the 6-6, 218-pound Jones, who has sub-4.4 speed, might be worth a shot if the Cowboys can't keep the guy they're counting on to be their big, fast field-stretching receiver.

this is not going to happen, so they may as well quit talking about it

he is going to get suspended...they arnt going to pin their hopes at #2 or #3 WR on someone this <> close to being kicked out of the league for a long time.

Wow, do you actually watch any of the games???

Miles Austin could beat Matt Jones in a race running backwards, there is no comparison between the two in terms of speed.

You also left out in your comparison the minor detail that Matt Jones is doing blow in the freaking huddle.

Yea, the two are practically twins.

thats right....my bad.......for some reason I always get KW and Stallworth mixed up.

Yes, KW would be a cheap and effective signing for us, especially if we lost Austin. I sure wish we had the 1st and 3rd tender on him though. The Jets GM would be ran out of town if they took Austin for that.....but as a Cowboys fan, I would be like, so long Miles, it was nice knowing ya. I want my 1st and 3rd. Then we could perhaps get one of those 1st round OTs.

Timmy gets paid for this?

We live in a great country where even idiots can make a buck or two. However, the well will eventually run dry after he starts to get ignored en mass because of his buffoonery reporting.

Unfortunately, yes, Timmy gets paid for this because editors now-a-days tell these guys to write this tabloid-ish stuff because nothing sells better than controversy - without caring that it's based on unsubstantiated speculation.
