More Stephen..
while i dont like bryant thought of bryant being bitter with the team. I love the fact that the team is taking a stance on the guaranteed money. Im glad tyron was loyal to the owner who stood behind him 100% involving the family problems. Wish Dez had this same mentality, If he gets the tag im sure the other side of dez will come out.
Guess they are so far apart in numbers with Dez, that franchising may be their only option if they want to keep him. I believe Dez has expressed his displeasure with that tag before so it may make for hard feelings. He knows this is his big contract year in his career and a home discount, as much as we think would be great, is not in his plans. You can't blame him for that.
As for possible franchising Murray, I don't believe that will happen. But let's say it did.......he would be much more unhappy about it than Dez since it would be another year of his career which is limited enough as a RB in the NFL. Don't think I would like it if my team only wanted to "lease" me another year rather than commit to me. Would I want to carry the ball 350+ times this year just to be discarded due to probable dropoff and another year older? My negotiating position would be worse than it is this year. Yeah, that is quite a dilemma.
Dez just retweeted this lol
And now he tweeted this
Just saw this dez tweet, safe to say he is a little po'd at this now?
I disagree totally! Dez is expecting the tag and has matured tremendously, he knows this is a business. Not really sure about what other side of Dez you're expecting to come out.
Good post. I agree with the bold and underlined.
It is all part of negations, no doubt Cowboys have the ace they can play in the franchise tag and I think Stephen Jones puts that out as a reminder even though Jones has said they would rather reach a long term deal.
A deal will get done, the Tag is a must or he could sign anywhere on March 10th. If they didnt im sure some team would have a deal already in place. But like i have been saying, he's wreckless in the words he puts out. That still shows alot of immaturity on his part. Keep them comments to yourself.
No argument from me on why the tag may need to be used. As for the negotiation I have seen the back and forth with players and the team over the years, Emmitt was not happy with talks and held out until week 3. Tony Dorsett had some issues with Tex and got nasty then things get worked out and players get past it.
Agree, them Emmitt talks got real ugly for a minute there lol. He was not happy with Jimmy.
In reguard to Dez, Im glad they are talking this stance with him. He is a tremendous talent on the field. But he has to be a nightmare off the field for the team not to have locked him up by now. A talent like this? Once things get ugly they rarely get righted. Look at how nasty Deion got with Atlanta when they didnt want to pay him anymore lol.
