Less than a year from now Cowboys Stadium will host Super Bowl XLV, but that was not at the top of the mind of Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones.
"To call the NBA All-Star Game a warm-up does no justice to itself," Jones said. "This is very special in itself. The more of these types of events and do them more, you get better at it. I believe we were ready for this one and it will go a long ways toward making us even better for future events, including the Super Bowl."
Jones hopes this will not be the only all-star game Cowboys Stadium hosts.
"We would love to have it and they know we'd love to have it, but I have no idea how that works," Jones said. "Obviously we respect the decisions the NBA makes. I've heard they're not a regular big stadium venue type of game, but when they do decide to put it in a stadium we want to be the first one at the top of their list."
One of the biggest attractions for hosting the all-star game was the international flavor of the NBA. Next month Cowboys Stadium hosts the Manny Pacquaio-Joshua Clottey fight. The stadium has already hosted international soccer matches and hopes to be involved in a possible World Cup as well.
"That's why it's such an honor to host the NBA All-Star Game," Jones said. "It obviously touches more than North America, more than the United States of America. It's Asia. It's Europe. It touches so many millions. It's global and I think it does a tremendous amount for this stadium."
