The Dallas Cowboys offense, including center Travis Frederick (72) listen to quarterback Tony Romo (9) call a play during a timeout against the New York Giants in the first half at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Sunday, September 13, 2015. (Tom Fox/The Dallas Morning News)
Special contributor Bob Sturm answered questions in a chat Thursday. Here are some highlights.
Question: I think the Cowboys will beat the Dolphins and that they match up well, with Romo back, against Carolina. Your thoughts?
Bob Sturm: I am not great at picking games, but if they can somehow win 2 games in 5 days and get those both in the bag with Miami and Carolina, this city is going to get nuts with optimism. I would hope we get to experience that, but the idea of beating two strong sides in 5 days seems hard to believe right now. Would love to see it for sure.
Question: Given the two-games-in-five-days week ahead, wouldn't it have made more sense to wait until the Thanksgiving Day game to bring back Romo, regardless of his personal wishes?
Bob Sturm: They must get wins. They must. With that in mind, the opportunity to play Tony Romo and not to do so would be insane. That said, I share a fair amount of trepidation about getting him hit. He is a guy who needs to be protected very well.
Question: 90% chance of thunderstorms for DAL-MIA. Have to think that favors MIA, no?
Bob Sturm: Well, it always seems to rain down there for games but if I have the types of road graders that I think I have, I would not fear that game at all. I claim to be a physical team in Dallas, so let's see it on Sunday and then run a little play action right off the back of that.
