After the game, Jerry Jones didn't say anything publicly. I wonder if he is considering looking for answers in a more shocking fashion. He is likely playing the blame game, too, and odds are he isn't looking in the mirror.
The Cowboys will be more than happy to have this season go away
Sean Payton. But we all know it'll never happen
I don't understand why so many people want this guy. I really don't. He has had a few good years. He has been in NO for 9 years and almost half of those years, he was at or below 500 coach with the last 2 years as very horrible years. If they fire Garrett, get a good OC that is hungry for his shot, not some old tired rethread

I'm with you. He is a tremendous offensive mind, however, his team have field a couple of the worst defenses in NFL history.
There is some good there, some bad. There is nothing to me that screams 'He is the only guy the Cowboys should go after'.
Only reason I would be interested is because he has worked with Romo...Romo is too old to start all over, he will likely struggle if he had to pick up an entirely new system.
I won't be too excited for Sean Payton because NO COACH HAS EVER WON A SUPERBOWL WITH TWO TEAMS! People assume you upgrade by adding a championship coach but history tells us quite the opposite.
I will never understand the Romo is too old to start over comments. He is a very smart guy. He can learn a new offense. As for Payton, one of these days someone will win a SB with two different teams. Mike Holgrem should have done it if not for the most rigged game in history. You add a Payton because he is truly an offensive genius who has shown the capability to get the most out of his offensive personnel not to mention his was the main influence on Romo in his first few years here and made Drew Brees a superstar. He is the type of guy we need to get the most out of Romo now and to develop a young QB for the future. Do we really want Garrett developing a new QB??? Payton is everything Garrett is not and actually has a resume.
"They seemed tone deaf to their circumstances on offense for much of the year with no risk taking at proper times and sitting on tendencies. Even worse, they seemed to play games as if they were the favorite and if their backup QB could simply take what was given and never risk the ball."
Great quote by Sturm. This drove me crazy all season. I almost wish Dan Bailey would have some minor injury before game time where they wouldn't have him available for a game to see if they would coach any different.
Brees was turning into a superstar before Payton. Payton helped further develop him but he was a probowler before and only became a free agent because of Phillip Rivers. You can give Payton credit for Romo but Parcells and even Garrett deserve some credit for the QB Romo has become today (considering how turnover prone he was in his early years).
I wouldn't be against a Payton signing but I would rather get someone hungry, there are other coaches out there that can develop a QB...Payton is just the first name that comes to many's mind due to his name recognition and connection to the Cowboys. Nobody outside of the Cowboys and Giants knew who Payton was before the Saints signed him.
Well, the boys now have a great defense. Sean is offensive minded... How would this not work again?
