A building process takes time. Try to build a house in one day. It will fall down tomorrow too. You have to take your time and get the right material. You cant take short cuts, especially if its a house you are gunna live in.

The D is coming along. You have to let them play and lose then win in order for them to fully understand. The O will be built this offseason. Bledsoe will be ok next year behind a revamped O line that allows him to stand there looking for a receiver. The Backs will renew their vigor and actually have holes and you will be amazed at the resurgence of JJ and the emergence of Barber.

The fact we are not all together now is a sign the the rebuilding process is not complete.

If you were expecting a Superbowl this year, your opening yourself for heart ache. It aint gunna happen. Next year would be pre-mautre but more realistic.

Let Parcells do his job. Quite posting that every player on the Oline must go, Bledsoe sucks and has reverted to his buffalo days. Just 4 weeks ago we were all saying how stupid buffalo was for giving up on him. But without an oline that could stop anything, how do you expect Bledsoe to look. You want Henson out there behind that line? 2 words for you, Thanksgiving Lastyear. He would look worse then that today.

I know you guys are impatient, but you really are just gunna have to wait till the damn cakes out of the oven and cooked before you can eat it. It aint even in the oven yet, just for a time reference.

Give Parcells and the current boys an offseason and Next year to show you where they are. With the new Offensive draft and offseason, I think you will like the team, Bledsoe and yourselves so much better next year.

I see Extreme Makeover Home Edition build a house in a week.

It has been 3 years.

One more year and the Commanders keep looking like they have over the last 3 weeks and I will be the first one saying Gibbs cant get it done.

Gibbs cant. But Parcells was fooled. The first two years here were unreal and like a dream sorta. Parcells thought he was farther along. then cut our starting QB 1 week before the season starts and inserts Vinny.

Big difference between Parcells being fooled into thinking were better then we really are, though a big no-no for any coach to misread his talent level. Whats Gibbs excuse. He brought in his guys and built this Commanders team to what he wanted. He was never fooled, he just does not know how to build a team in this parity driven NFL. Counter Trey wont work with todays linemen and backer speed.

Parcells last won a SB, when ? A perrennial winner when ?

I wouldnt exactly be so quick to say that Parcells can get it done and Gibbs cant.

And Gibbs has been back 2 years. Next year will be the year for considerable improvement.

You can build a team in a year in today's NFL. Many teams have proven it.

You can certainly build a team within 3 years, even with some setbacks like Quincy/Vinny and the 4-3.

There is really no excuse for Parcells not to have built a better OL by now - he has spent big money on 2 FAs (Flo and Rivera) and 3 first-day draft picks (Al, Rogers, Peterman). He also started with an overrated but solid future HOFer at OG.

3 years is plenty of time to have fixed this - it really should have been fixed his first year here by hiring a good OL coach. Something he has still not yet done.

I think the blown picks on Rogers and Peterman are killing us right now. Rogers was released without ever playing for us and Peterman has yet to contribute. Both came with good pedigrees out of college so you have to wonder what the problem is.

Is it our rotating O-Line coaches, who Bill changed again this year? Is it that he just doesn't know how to evaluate OL talent? Is it just bad luck?

Johnson and Rivera are not playing well, and haven't all season. Petitti has struggled some as has Tucker. Our run blocking in particular is lacking and it is killing us in these close games.

Isn't our O-line coach and ex TE's coach ? Has he even coached an O-line before ?

Bill says that if a player does not produce in his 3rd year...then it is time to cut bait.

I wonder if the same standard applied to coaching ?

Personally, I understand that the defense is young and in a rebuilding mold.

My problem is that there is no future potential on the Offensive line.

The center is not getting better. The gaurds best days are behind them....and Tucker has been a project for how many years now ?

The only youth guy with any potential upside is Petitti.

1 out of 5 does not get me excited.

We are striking out in terms of selecting talented OL players. And this is not a young group that is growing.

and....the skill positions, WR and QB, are populated with old players that were hand picked by Parcells..

oh i agree. we couldn't afford the rogers bust. petitti is a nice story and all but it's painfully obvoius he isn't ready for prime time. strahan ate his lunch and bullied him all afternoon yesterday. oh how i miss the days when erik williams was the bully around here. tucker is not as bad as petitti but he's still a less than stellar talent. but hey we're going to have to sink or swim whith these guys because that's all we have.

btw rogers is still on the roster, which is a technicality since the day he passes a physical he will most certainly be gone.

Sure it takes time to build a team. Just when the team has the same problems, then it looks as if it is not being built. The offensive line has been a problem and is still a problem. After 3 years, we should be able to expect some upgrade on the offensive line. At least find 1 new person in 3 years that we can rely on to do his job well.

The same exact question marks exist on the line. The only up side is the Rob is a rookie and we can all hope he will be better in the future for his beat downs this season. That will still be a question going into next season. Allen will be older and who knows how long he can stay motivated. Flozell has to overcome a majory injury. Johnson seems to be everyone's whipping boy. Rivera is a huge disappointment. Is it really better than the 2002 version? Probably, but not by much. Especially for an offensive system that relys heavily on the offensive line. It can't be average, it has to be very good. And right now, it is not even average. Patience is needed, but it is in short supply.

Yes, I do understand. We are putting this thing together the right way IMO.

We have a very young and talented Defense that should be fun to watch for a long time.

We have drafted some good young skill players on Offense.

IMO we have come a long ways.

Now 1 more thing to do, and we will be complete.

We have to do the same thing this Off-Season we did last off-season with the O-Line. Spend money and draft picks to get a RT, Center, and Guard.

If we can come across an explosive WR do that to.

We are not far away, and this team is being built to contend for a long time.

IMO just one more off-season to go and we will be legit Super Bowl Contenders.

I say if any reporters has the courage to say that to Parcells in the next press conference, we all chip in for a pewter trophy labeled "Biggest Balls of the Year."

The loser fans here just astound me. Frankly, they DESERVE a losing team--forever.

Ashwynn--you're correct. It takes time to rebuild a team, & this team had to be rebuilt on both sides of the ball. Even Jerruh has now acknowledged that in year one (when everyone keeps screaming that we should have taken Delhomme), HE wanted to give CHutch & Q another year with Parcells. Yes, it turned out to be a surprise year & lulled everyone. So, after last year with several blowout losses, we've got a defense that is terrific (& young). This offseason is the time to rebuild the offensive line. Unfortunately, you can't do it all in one year.

And consider:

Tony Dungy, WITH Peyton Manning--has coached in Indy for how long? This year, maybe, they get to the Super Bowl. Should he have only been given 3 years?

Mike Holmgren--has coached in Seattle for how long? They still haven't gone beyond the first round of playoffs. Finally looks like a contender this year. Should he have been only given 3 years?

Bill Cowher--has coached in Pittsburgh for how long? One Super Bowl appearance in all that time, & this year it looks like they won't even make the playoffs. Should he have been fired after 3 years? Or maybe after this year?

Jon Gruden, wins the Super Bowl with a team Tony Dungy built. Tanks after that. Finally getting the team rebuilt & on track. Should he have only been given 3 years?

Mike Shanahan, after he loses Elway, has gone how long without getting past the first round of playoffs? Now has the second-best team in the AFC (& you want to talk about conservative offensive playcalling--you might want to take notes on what they're doing in Denver). Maybe he should have been fired after the 3rd non-Elway year?

Schottenheimer--how many years has it taken him to get San Diego into a contender status (altho they may not make the playoffs this year)? Should he have been fired after 3 years? Or after this year if they struggle?

It's called rebuilding for a reason. Get a grip, people.
