I think the way to manage this offense of the giants is pretty simple, 2 deep cover. Limited blitz package, and strong run D. Eli Manning is not much different that his brother in the regard that he has a hard time driving the feild. Their offensive passing game is a down field. If we make them throw underneath,, be patient, we can force him into mistakes. I would run stunts and blitz the ILB up the middle to flush him to Ware or Ellis. Eli is doing a better job of reading Blitz's pre snap this year and finding the one on one's. I would limit this, roll coverage to Buress, 1 on 1 with Tumor, zone shockey with a LB and Saftey over the top. The bottom line, we have to contain Tiki with the front 7,, play coverage and make the gaints play patient football.. we will win.

Thats my thoughts anyway.

Not a bad approach. I don't get to watch most games because I'm out of market but have the Cowboys been shifting Ware around much? I saw them do it in PS and it seemed to work pretty well, he had at least 1 sack I saw when they shifted him to the other side and the other team didn't have any help for the tackle.

No, but I think some people on this board are more interested in sack totals than what game planning.. I would NOT be over aggressive against this giants team tonight.

Cowboy4ever is Zimmer  :p:

j/k....I agree whole heartedly with your approach. Barber is the engine that pulls the Giants' train. Manning actually does better statistically against the blitz. Make them work...no big plays. Zimmer rules tonight.

I agree on containing Tiki is the key, but I think we need to also rattle Eli.

I think Dallas has to be willing to mix things up, I'm not one who like to blitz all the time anyways but I think you do have to send blitzes now and then to keep the QB guessing.

I would just keep the blitzes unpredictable, Blitz the nickel back in the nickel package for instance. I dont like blitzing ur outside corners, the nickel is lined up on the slot so its easier to get to the qb.

otherwise just do stunts with the d-line and have everyone else drop into their zones and we should be fine

I agree to a point. I think you keep the QB guessing without all out blitz's though. We can mix the coverage up.. Roll to different WR.. we can Zone blitz,, we can bring ILB on blitz's.. for example, bring Akin in the A gap, have Spears, stunt between the Guard and tackle and loop Ware around behind Akin to push up the middle.. Eli can't out run either of those guys. containment is not a key focus of this game. I would leave most DB in coverage and generate pressure with our front 7,, both in run and passing games tonight.

If we let Eli get comfortable in the pocket he will pick us apart. :(

Get in there and scare him out of his jock strap. :)

Are you serious? Thats how you lose to the Colts, is by giving Manning to pick and choose who he wants to go to. In both of the Colts losses last year in which they were trying (Seattle doesnt count, cuz they already lost their perfect record, and didnt give a ****) they lost because the opposing teams brough exotic blitz packages at Manning. Those two teams were the Chargers and Steelers. Those two teams run a 3-4 defense.

Eli and his brother are different, yet similar quarterbacks. Eli gets rattled eaiser with pressure, though that is understandable since he is alot younger. Our corner backs are good enough to match up one on one with their wide receivers, with a little safety help over the top. Pressure on a quarterback is NEVER a bad thing. Bring the heat baby

Watching Eli alot, the Cowboys need to get pressure up the middle. Eli has the same problem Bledsoe has. When he feels a rush coming up the middle he throws off his back foot. When he does that the ball floats in the air, or even better it goes over the wrs head. So with that said Cowboys need to find a way to make this happen.

I believe he floats them more early in the game.....at least that's what I've heard.

I watch all the Giants games, and if you pressure him up the middle he throws of his back foot. The ball then floats or goes over the wrs head. Also if you watch the playoff game between the Giants and Panthers last year, thats why he threw 3 ints. Carolina was just sitting in their zone, watching these balls float all over the place.

If it's up to me I approach it the same way as last year. He completed well less than 50% of his passes against us with 1 TD and 3 Int's. They scored 13 and 10 on offense against us. It's the same cast.

And it's not like they didnt score points in general because they were 3rd in the NFL so obviously they were tweakin some other teams pretty good throughout the year.

If you wanna worry that simply because he has more games under his belt he's better now, ok. But I'd point out the best game he had against us was in '04 when he completed 2/3rds of his passes with 3 TD's and 1 Int. ;)

Let's just make sure we aren't running a defense that has a LB or S covering a WR man to man...I'll be happy with that. I'll take our CBs in man against any receiver they have.

I would blitz him from every angle possible. We have great CB's IMO. If we put pressure on the QB, they can cover for a few seconds. But the rush better get there. Zimmer won't play it like that though. He'll play it safe. Has he even heard of the run blitz? :)

I don't care what kind of game plan they call as long as we win! Jeeze, what time is it? My watch is really running slow today.
