I have read this entire thread. Good thread.

I have no confidence in this years dallas cowboys team.........i fully expect a blow out or close loss next week against the Eagles.

Romo, WItten, Ware....... And even Garret. I Want these guys to win. When constructing a football team, those 3 guys dont get passed over for too many players,......

For all the mistakes the coaching staff has made. The play calling, the decisions, the decisions, JJ, etc etc.....

They have this chance next Sunday, I really really want to see those guys make thier mark in the playoffs.....

And I will be rooting for all of them. I just dont think it happens.......

They beat philly and win a playoff game. They at least buy themselves another year...........

They can shut us all up. That's whats great about the NFL. Win. Or don't.

That Garrett has this team controlling their own destiny overcoming a defense that has started 18 different players on the DL? All of our LBs have missed time. We have been dinged on the back end too.

The Eagles have NO PLAYERS ON IR and have only lost 30 GAMES by injured starters.

Dallas has 7 PLAYERS ON IR. And God knows how many lost games but the DL alone has surpassed the Eagles total.

With guys on D that should be at Home Depot giving up yards and points at a record pace we have somehow gotten ourselves to 5-0 in the NFC East and a win and you are in on Sunday night.

Sorry but that is not bad coaching.

I for one would love to see what this team could do with a defensive minded draft and some luck for once on the injury front. Because with even a middle of the pack defense this team would not be playing Sunday for a spot in the playoffs, they'd be playing for the #1 seed.

And if we don't choke away the lions and packers game, something that well coached teams don't do, we would be getting ready for a playoff game in two weeks, debating how long to play the starters this week.

Bottom line. Good coaches , good franchises , win Super Bowls.

So, when they mess up a game or even a year......they have proven success before .

Same goes for Eli.....coughin. They have actually done it before. Gone into an NFCCG and won. And then they win Super Bowls. Imagine that.

Is there anybody on our roster that has even been close to a Super Bowl??

So do the people in this thread saying injuries don't matter think we have the same chances at winning Sunday without Romo?

IMHO injuries, unless it's to the QB, are not an excuse.
[/B]

Every team in the league goes through it. Even more then the poor Cowboys.,,,....

Other franchises do a better job of preparing for it. U know, scouting. Coaching. Coming up with game plans , etc etc etc....that kind of stuff.....

So do the people in this thread saying injuries don't matter think we have the same chances at winning Sunday without Romo?

I made this post last night. Check the bold.........

Anybody with any knowledge of football what so ever, knows the QB position is different. And it really doesn't even need to be said. But I did anyway.....

In addition. We just got beat by a backup QB against the bears. And a fourth stringer against the packers...

I feel bad for Romo......but, These other organizations have won with their backups.......hell, Noles, was a backup..........I'm still rooting for the boys.......:)

No he does not scout any player that is what scouts are paid to do. He has say in the selection both bust and pro bowlers This crap of people picking and choosing based on player making it or not is down right stupid. He has say in all picks he does nto scout player most GM don't that is why they hire a group of men called SCOUTS that is what they do. No one is running a one man show in the NFL

If you believe he had the same involvement with drafting Aikman than he did drafting QC and over ruling his scouts, then I have some swamp land to sell you. It's amazing how good a GM he was when he first bought the team, dropped off drastically for a while, then hit a good streak again and now is cold. I wouldn't think it had anything to do with Jimmy and BP since Jerry had the same involvement since he bought the team.

In any event, we've got bigger problems now with Romo being out so I'm not going to go back and forth on an issue that no one cares about at this point and is secondary to Romo's injury.

Not to mention the fact that we've only been playing for anything the few years because the division has been lousy. Most previous years at least one, and sometimes more than one, NFCE team would already be to ten wins -- at least -- and we'd be done.

Agree CL. That was our "window" to do something in the East and make some noise in the playoffs. I think it's safe to say that our window is just about closed and I thought that was the case before the Romo injury. There was a time when we were set at all the skill positions with guys that were either Pro-Bowlers or one of the best in the league at their position. The most important decision our dolt GM had was to pick the right coach post BP and follow a path and formula that literally rebuilt the team, from the scouting department to the product on the field, into a SB contender. He failed miserably. There are no words to describe my dislike for the man, especially now that Romo is done for the year and Garrett will most likely keep his job now that Jerry has an excuse to sell to the fan base.

Whatever.

This has been Garrett's best year.

I'm unable to get over the Romo injury and what it does to this franchise.

The ripple effect hasn't even begun to appear.

Its going to be like a tuisunam.

By the time we all know what has really happened..

..it will all be over and players will be fleeing Dallas en mass.

BP did not always get his way, He wanted Spears over Ware. Ireland argument swayed Jerry view. No doubt Jimmy had more say than any HC this franchised had including Landry who never scouted players that was Gil Brandt job and he and Landry and Tex worked together. Jones is clearly involved good and bad but he is not making the call without major input from scouts and Jason. I'm not spinning a damn thing just sick and tired of fans making claims that good playes we have were someone else but all bust were Jerry.

I agree. It's on the GM for not addresing the DL in the offseason and not only that but called it an area of strenght. Even with Crawford and Bass this is a terrible DL.

My, my how the bar has been lowered since the mid 90's. We play in a weak division, have one of the league's worst defense's, a HC who has mismanaged at least 2-3 games resulting in losses. But hey, all is good because we are again in a one and done season ending game with a chance to finally finish above .500 for the first time in 5 years.

I remember when anything other than advancing deep into the playoffs was unsatisfactory. But now, if we can just be in the playoff picture going into the last week of the season then all is well. smh.

You're going off the reservation. The conversation was about the QB position and a post claiming " If Quincy is proof Jones can't evaluate QB talent then Tony Romo and Troy Aikman are proof that he can."

There is nothing that you can point to that can tell me Jerry can evaluate QB talent. The above quote is just a hope and prayer by a fan and is not based on any reality. And Jerry is absolutely is on the hook for QC with whom he over ruled his scouts to draft in the 2nd round. Jerry also attended Henson's workout then asked Aikman for his opinion. Whether you like it or not, Jerry's on the hook for QC, Henson, Stoerner, Banks (who never took a snap), Wright, Hutch, Leaf and Cunningham. Jerry was offered a third round pick for Romo by Sean Payton and he wanted a second rounder. If I recall, the Jets also had an interest in Romo. Had someone given us a second round pick, Romo wouldn't even be here.

Good job by Jerry on over ruling BP on Ware. Now, if he could only sustain a modicum level of success we'd believe he's a quality GM, as opposed to someone who may occasionally find a diamond in the rough like Ware.
