Do people switch radio stations just for hosts?

Mainly speaking talkin Cowboys and the lunch break. I'm a Broaddus fan, big one. However I can't watch that show anymore because of Kelsey and Mickey. Can deal with one, not two, and Kelsey is a really anoying host. Sydney is just there doesn't really play a role. I do like all 3 people on the Break so now I listen to that. Nick and Dennis go back and forth but in a healthy manner and Derek imo is a great host. Not saying you have to agree or disagree with anything im saying just curious what other people do.

Talking about DFW radio?

Yeah I switch around. Mostly because of Ben and skin. Have followed them around the networks. Best show in Dallas, not even close IMO.

The only two sports talk guys I like listening to are Norm Hitzges and Bob Sturm.
Without those two.,The Ticket wouldn't even qualify as a sports station.

Yes. Sports talk radio is all about the hosts.

I can't watch any of that stuff from the Cowboys website like Talking Cowboys and the Lunch Break. If somebody posts the test of those shows I'll read it but I can't listen to the moronic chatter.

Be careful believing too much from Broaddus. He has some good info but will mix in some nonsense.

Nick Eatman is a complete Moron. Two years ago in training camp he had a roster from about 2009 and was referencing players that had been gone for years as being on the field. How does a guy thag works for the team think that the RB Lattimore is on the team in 2012 when he hadn't been with them since 2009?

I am one of those people/ I dislike Broadus with a passion, I was with him in the beginning reading his credentials and such, but after a few times of listening to him and reading his stuff, I now believe he has no clue of what is going on with this team or organization.

Mickey in my opinion has the pulse of this organization. He has the inside info. Over the years there has been no one else to me that can give you more that Mickey. He has always in my opinion been spot on or real close

Not even close. BAD Radio is 10x better. Ben and Skin are clowns and always have been.

Norm Hitzges is the top dog of local sports radio talk. No one else comes close.

Well... Yeah you're kind of right. Those guys clown around quite a bit. But that's why I like them. Not bland or boring.

Kelsey is beyond bad. Micky is ok but gets excited and hurts my headphoned ears yelling. I like BB.

Steve Dennis is horrible. Absolutely horrible. Has a voice for newspaper.

Sturm is good. The Ticket as a whole is good because unlike Norm they don't take themselves seriously. And Norm is wrong about many things IMO. However I do like the 5 things you may have missed segment the day after each Cowboys game but outside of that he's boring and seems to be wrong in a lot of his observations.

Like everyone else has stated yes, it is about the hosts.

I mostly listen to the Fan unless Bob and Dan are on.
The Fan wins mornings for me by default. Not a huge fan of that morning show but it beats ESPN national offering narrowly and the Musers by actually talking some sports --if goofy talk at times.

Ben and Skin/Bob and Dan are my favorite shows.
Enough pop culture mix to fill around legitimate intelligent sports talk.

I've listened to Norm for 20+ years on and off and he's solid if clearly aging.

I have been really down on the Ticket for a few years and I see the Fan is actually catching them now in ratings because of the Cowboys.
That is good because it means more money and competition for the area shows.

If CBS would have lured Bob and Dan they may well be winning by a large margin right now.

Those two shows are similar.
Ben knows the Rangers/Baseball as well as anyone in the area and Skin knows the Mavs/NBA as well as anyone other than Coop.
I agree that show struggles with Cowboys/NFL/Football which is why they have Holley on so much.

Some of the Clowning they do on B&S is at least sports related like the often hilarious theme songs.
Those things are gold.
They are also a hipper, younger show that uses social media.

Bob is the best overall in the area but Dan helps give him an expanded purview.
IF I could only choose one host Bob would be it by a good margin but his hockey focus would lose me.
This is Texas and we didn't even have hockey until the late 90s.

I change around quite often. Depends on the show and their attitude at the time.
Though the past month I haven't listened as much. I usually listen while at work, but been off work the past month, and will return in January, so been busy with other things and helping on a business venture.

Norm is by far the best, but even at times he gets on a rant or a hate streak. But over all his opinions are usually spot on.

BAD radio, Bob & Dan, I call the time wasters....Bob is great, but Dan often changes the subject. They advertise to talk Cowboys, then when returning from break. Dan interrupts to talk crap, or make announcements. So instead of 10 minutes you get 3 minutes. I basically stopped listening to their show. They are like Seinfeld, a show about nothing. I never watched Seinfeld much either, only a few times in reruns when nothing else was on.

The Morning guys, the Musers, they are good and bad. But they do have Troy Aikman on every Thursday, and different other people regulars. They too can be a bit hateful at times. Ever since the Cowboys moved from the Ticket to the Fan, they seem to hate on them more. They have their routines and stick to them. And can be very entertaining at times especially when Gordon Keith gets them all riled up.

The Fan morning guys, try to sound like fans, and have been much better lately. But their first few years they hated the Cowboys, you could tell. As one is a Commanders fan and another a Jets fan. The one lady that was with them was a Cowboys fan, and I think they pushed her out. Not sure. I don't listed a lot to them any more. They are horrible, but been getting better.

Ben & Skin were great no matter what station thy went too.

Can't get ESPN Dallas on phone app anymore, not even sure they are still on local radio. But Randy Galloway was the worst, glad he retired. Look up Cowboys hater in the dictionary or on the internet, his picture is there. The little ball of hate along with him. She was good at first, but then Gallowaste got his hooks into her, an turned her into a hate machine.

Overall, the local radio is really what one wants to take from it. Depending your point of view on the team. But they seem to always focus on the negatives more than the positives. But that's my opinion.

I'll get torched for this but since I don't live in Dallas, when I'm in the car I will listen to Colin Cowherd every chance I get. His takes on sports and life are provocative and smart. Sure he's wrong at times and I'll disagree with him but overall amidst the dumbing down of America, I hear him talk about analytics and ratings and just common sense life things. I think we just have the same sensibilities.

I also like his segments with Greg Cosell, who's got some of the best analysis on football I've heard. He's a tape rate, like Jaworski without the agenda. When he broke down RG III you knew exactly why he's awful and how far he has to go.
