Zeke should have a monster year.
But those hoping for 2000 yards rushing may want to lower that target.

They have have way too many weapons in the passing game to not use them.
Balance with a lean towards the run game will give us max effeciency.

I agree 2k rushing seems unrealistic, but I wouldn't rule out 2,200 total yds from scrimmage. I fully expect Zeke to be more involved in the passing game this year.

Having enough balls to go around suggests some receivers being overlooked. I'm thinking Dak's offseason work will allow him to flourish in the passing game this season. Ball control will be augmented with an impressive number of long possessions on offense this year. I think that vast improvement in both our passing and running attacks will likely make the Cowboys' offensive domination an exciting reality.

Even if the defense gets off to a slow start, I believe the offense will make up for it early, until such time as the defense really starts to click as the season wears on. By the time the playoffs are in sight, the defense should be outstanding. I'm expecting many good things to happen in 2017.

the scheme, as always, will determine who gets the snaps and the ball...Red is, if nothing else, predictable and non-dynamic...let Zeke run the ball OR force to Dez OR let Witten stay on the field 100% of the time and get some catches

- Rico and Switz won't see the ball if this continues and thus, we will have more of the same....

I would like to see the reintroduction of the lead draw. This would require the team to be able to successfully move the ball through the air setting up this play. With the skill and attributes of the offensive line to get to the second level, the lead draw could be as devastating as when Troy and Emmitt ran it behind the Super Bowl lines of the early 90's.

I especially think bringing in a WR set with Zeke in the backfield, and Zeke blocking, lulls a team to sleep about that play. A successful passing attack in this formation would surely open up the middle of the field for Zeke to reclaim some of those yard he feels he left on the bone.

But my true feeling is - the more i think on it - that bringing in Maclin might offer this offense the ability to be unstoppable. Or close to it.

A mixed message here.

Good memory, TwoDeep...there are a lot of yards hidden in the lead draw. Our two small receivers can bring in honesty in blitz packages.

I respect the professional abilities of Maclin...his age doesn't blind me, yet.

Great comment. You summed up the correct outcome by using the slot guys to draw away outside linebackers, or nickle and dime defenders with the routes they use to get the match up needed for that play to work. But with Beaz and Switzer's abilities, you also can make that lead draw a read react in that if the rush is coming up the middle, you have two options for the short passing game, and Zeke, if he reads it correctly, simply blocks the blitzer.

Nice call, CC.

No, there's only 1 football in the field of play at any given time, so they'll have to share.

Bad article.

The defense may actually create a punting game in opponents this year, so the number of running plays by Zeke Elliott could become relevant.
