Do the Packers have ANY incentive to beat the Cards?

Or will they be resting their guys and not showing off their playbook?

Hard to say. As for the playbook I don't there is much to hide after 16 weeks of football.

For seeding purposes maybe. I always feel that there are significant advantages at both ends of the seeding, but not in the middle.

For example, the #1 seed has a huge advantage over the #2 seed. So that is worth fighting for.

There isn't much difference between the 3 and 4 seed. Both teams host a game, and eventually go on the road if they win.

The Packers could be the 5 seed instead of the 6, and to me, that is big difference. The 5 seed faces lower quality opponents, at least based on records, and that seed at least has a small chance of hosting an NFC Champ game if the 6 seed survives. The 6 seed has to travel for 3 games, and face the highest quality opponents.

The main thing I can think of is that the Packers struggled to begin their season, and now are on a major roll.

I think you want to keep that "roll" going and letting up may disrupt your mojo.

What MOST people aren't taking into consideration is the following and it is a double edged sword:

People want to know if the Packers have something to play for because we need them to win to get a 1st rd bye - I understand that. The Packers game is at 4PM, the Vikings game is at 1PM. The Cardinals already mentioned resting their players this week, UNTIL Minnesota lost on Sunday.

My point is, If the Vikings win at 1 PM, the Cardinals will rest their starters at 4PM. If the Vikings lose, the Cardinals will not. Now, most of you guys are thinking well what does it matter to Dallas if Minnesota wins and then the Cardinals lose.

The KEY for me, is that the Cowboys get the #3 seed. By obtaining the 3 seed in the NFC, it gives Dallas a pretty darn good shot at HOSTING the NFCC game. THAT is what I want.

I don't think the Packers win even if they don't rest their starters. Arizona is the sleeper team in the NFC.

Arizona is going to rest their players, if the Vikings win...and YES, the Cards are the sleeper team..I agree 100%

How is Arz coming off last year SB a sleeper team? If the Pack can get the pressure on the QB they stand a good chance at winning that game.

they won the NFC last year, they shouldn't be considered sleepers IMO.

They shouldn't be, but they are. Everyone is gushing about the Eagles winning the 2 seed, New Orleans and Drew Brees, and Lord Favre. Nobody said anything about Arizona even after they administered that beat down of Minnesota a few weeks back.

Cardinals and Patriots are major sleepers. We haven't heard anything about the Pats but they are playing decent ball right now and they have Brady, Moss and Welker. They will be a tough out in the playoffs.

I don't think they are sleepers to the other teams around the league. Yes the media has their favorites I understand that but being last years SB team from the NFC I don't think any team is looking at them as sleepers.

New orleans is a good media story and of course Brett being the QB in Minn is a good story for the media so that is the direction the media takes.

They are just as overlooked this season, everyone is talking about the Vikings, Aints, Eagles and Cowboys while the Cards are quietly going about their business

Cards are a hard team to read -they haven't really played anyone other than Minnesota - but followed that up getting trounced by SF and barely getting by Detroit. \Last year proved they are dangerous if they can get fitz untracked.

That's not very well thought out IMO. The 3 seed also faces a lower quality opponent (based on recrod, etc.) and they have a MUCH MUCH more realistic chance of hosting the Championship game. To me, the difference between the 5 and 6 seed is basically non existent. Both have a 99.9% probability of needing to play 3 games on the road, against what are most likely better teams.

Az can have the #3 seed and there are several likely scenarios for that happening - e.g. Vikes win, we win. You always want the higher seed b/c it buys you a home game if 4 or 5 (which would be Philly and Dallas under that scenario) make it to the championship game

Actually the 6th seed has a 100% chance of playing 3 games on the road.
