Don Corleone;3184247 said:they won the NFC last year, they shouldn't be considered sleepers IMO.

Don Corleone;3184180 said:For seeding purposes maybe. I always feel that there are significant advantages at both ends of the seeding, but not in the middle.
For example, the #1 seed has a huge advantage over the #2 seed. So that is worth fighting for.
There isn't much difference between the 3 and 4 seed. Both teams host a game, and eventually go on the road if they win.
The Packers could be the 5 seed instead of the 6, and to me, that is big difference. The 5 seed faces lower quality opponents, at least based on records, and that seed at least has a small chance of hosting an NFC Champ game if the 6 seed survives. The 6 seed has to travel for 3 games, and face the highest quality opponents.
ChldsPlay;3184544 said:That's not very well thought out IMO. The 3 seed also faces a lower quality opponent (based on recrod, etc.) and they have a MUCH MUCH more realistic chance of hosting the Championship game. To me, the difference between the 5 and 6 seed is basically non existent. Both have a 99.9% probability of needing to play 3 games on the road, against what are most likely better teams.
