Do the Patriots pay their assistants to keep them there?

Just curious, have the Patriots ever matched or raised on an offer from another team to retain an assistant? I suppose I could ask the same of the Colts too, since I'm sure their staff has been picked on.

I BELIEVE they did that to Weis and Crenell in either '02 or '03, if I'm not mistaken.

Of course, both of them eventually left.

Philly did the same with Childress/Johnson after '02(especially when the Niners were interested in the latter).

The Bucs did the same with Monte Kiffen after they won the Super Bowl.

And, of course, the reason why Gregg Williams is still in Washington is b/c the Skins overpaid him after '05 to keep him there.
