Do We Ever Make Adjustments on Offense?

Anyone catch norm this morning. This was one of his topics.
Said we never move dez or adjust to what the d is doing to us. Said Detroit was running a gimmick defense that was begging to be exploited.
He was about as critical of the offense as I've ever heard him

They just don't have the bodies at the guard position to control the line of scrimmage. Now, without Waters, we are in a bad way I think. When your O line is getting destroyed at the point of attack it is hard to adjust for that, other than some play action which when your running game is not working doesn't work either. Fredrick is green and having Waters inside helped him. Berny is a serious liability run or pass. A glaring hole in our line. Maybe they will move Free inside and bring in Parnell?

I would like to see the end around calls stop. They might get some yardage but it doesn't seem like they set them up very well. I would like to see some screens - let the quick upfield movement of the d line against them. Wish we were better at it.

The problem is we never resort to the quick slants and screens (what the heck is a screen play anyway???) to slow up the run blitzing. The whole freaking game they were run blitzing a corner or safety on us every play and we still never took advantage of it. I think I saw two slants the whole game, and a whole lot of Romo waiting on routes to develop. Our other issue (the bigger one) is the lack of creativity in the plays themselves. I watch other teams with brilliant clear out routes and devious triple moves, but it seems all we do is send three receivers out on simple routes and hope they get open. That puts a lot of pressure on the receivers and Romo has to hold the ball longer waiting for the receivers to clear the defenders. We just need some revamping on the routes and some quicker release plays to get some pressure off our lines.

Of course I am a tried and true armchair coach, so take what I say with a grain of salt. :)

Well he is dead on, as he is a lot of the times. I love listening to Norm. Did not catch him this morning, though.

the most amazing thing to me is when Garrett steps up there and says that the defense took Dez and Witten out of the game. So say they double Dez and Witten, that leaves 7 players to stop the run, cover the other receivers, and rush the passer. If this is actually happening, Garrett is dumber than dumb for saying so, it just makes him look stupid...........
