Do we go get a veteran WR?

If Dez faces a suspension, do we get a FA receiver? if yes, who? I don't want Ogletree, unless he can prove me wrong :S

Dez is unlikely to be suspended, but we'd definitely need a veteran WR to fill in if he were. There's a decent chance we're looking to add one, anyway, at some point.

Regardless of what happens to Dez, I think they should. How can we really be that confident Dallas will get 16 or more games of a healthy Dez & Miles?

Got some good news today can't wait for next week......

Pure speculation but maybe we bring him into camp?

Theres little chance of Dez missing any real time and if the Cowboys had any interest in having another vet WR I would think they would have kept Robinson, surely our FO isn't that inept.

Shocking that so many believe Dez faces no suspension...wishful thinking I'm guessing.

He stands a very good chance of being suspended by the league or the team for at least two games.

I hate the thought of playing NY without Dez, but he may need a wake up call for his own good.

The fact the team hasn't brought in a vet WR speaks volumes. There is always a vet that can be picked up before the opener or after the first game if necessary.

Yeah, I'm thinking that if the commissioner wants to be a total hard-arse he might suspend Dez a game or two,,, at the most though, not at the least. Certainly not enough time to warrant bringing in another WR

I sure hope Dez takes this as another wake up call, but so far that kid refuses to answer the phone!

The commissioner will not impose any form of suspension if-and-until the legal ramifications of Dez Bryant's arrest become worse than they already are. At this time, the only action taken by law enforcement has been an arrest. The charge upon which the arrest was made itself is a misdemeanor.

Roger Goodell has become the boogeyman. He is just "unfair" and "heavy handed." While he is not perfect, I think that he is a much better commissioner than his critics, from some fans to certain players themselves, have condemned him to be.

Goodell will allow this whole thing to play itself out. On the topic of suspension, some will eventually be surprised or not surprised about how he will impact Bryant's fate. In my opinion, I will not.

There is zero percent chance he gets suspended.

Can you name a single player who has been suspended after one altercation with the law that was a misdemeanor? I'm not minimizing any of this, I hate that he got into a scrap with his mother regardless of who was the aggressor. But isn't it really obvious that the players who get suspended only do so after multiple run ins with the law? The closest thing Dez has to that is getting kicked out of a Mall for being with a bunch of guys with sagging pants.

Yeah, I know all about the Miami nightclub altercation. No punches were thrown by anyone. It was a verbal altercation. Blown way out of proportion.

The jewelry stuff? Players aren't even suspended for not paying child support, much less a jewelry bill.

The idea of a suspension here, for a misdemeanor, is way overblown panic.

He isn't going to get suspended. It will probably all blow over as more info comes out. No one here knows the motives. No one here knows the actual events. No one here knows both sides of the story.

Here is what we do know. Marshawn Lynch was arrested again, for DUI. He previously hit a woman while driving. He previously got popped for a weapon in his car. It's barely even a story even though he actually could have killed someone. That star shines bright. This is not a mountain, it is a molehill.

The kid is dead wrong regardless of what happened. He isn't going to get suspended though. This isn't Lawrence Phillips with a history of violence. Yeah, I've heard the rumors of other altercations. Where are the other arrests? That is the key. Suspensions follow arrests. Plural.

I agree with every single word.

Darren Woodson was on mike and mike this AM and said

1) he expects Dez to play (i think he meant he does not think Dez will be suspended)

2) the cowboys have been happy with the maturity Dez has shown this off-season in terms of digesting the playbook.

we have to remember that we dont know the real facts of the case and Dez may not be at fault in this at all

hopefully this is just a bump on the road to a monster season for Dez
if Dez is ready to play

if Dez is on the team day 1, i would rather go with the young WRs as we have several with a lot of talent/potential and i would hate to cut one of them to bring in a veteran for a couple of weeks

Robinson wasn't in the picture when he left, as Bryant was still behaving himself.

I really want to give our young WRs a fair shot--and we have so many of them--but MSW would be my top choice of the vets out there.

It was all about cost and cap, and little to do with the player.

I do too.

Also, with Coale still being sidelined, I wouldn't be opposed to giving MSW the league minimum and see what he has in training camp.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a vet signed then cut and brought back after week 1.
