Do we make this mistake again?

It's getting late now as the deadlines appear on our horizon about signing or tagging Dak and Amari.

Lets remember why all of this happened in the first place.

Tony Romo.

The OL rebuild was supposed to help Romo.

Drafting Zeke was to replace Murray leaving and no running game.

To help Romo. To be Romo Friendly.

Dak was not drafted to take over. He was just supposed to be a project behind Romo as a safety net.

Now here we are,. Romo has got his dream TV job leaving him plenty of time for golf..

Dak is grossly about to be overpaid in a move that is going to doom this team for years if he fails or gets hurt and can't play well enough..

because of Dak needing to have a posse of people around him who are All Pros..

we can't afford a defense at all.

It been like the Keystone Cops in Dallas.

And we keep making the same old mistakes with this team..

we get a low cost QB and we want to go to the SB with him by overpaying for him to get there thinking if we just pay him enough..

and wait long enough..

It will all work.

Failures have now caused a complete coaching change to be made and Garrett was made the sacrificial lamb along with all the coaches.

Quite a blood letting to beDak Friendly.

Now Dak has stopped being Cowboy Friendly and wants to be paid the most in the league to be our leader.

Doesn''t anybody see this problem clearly?

The timing of signing Dak and Amari to these contracts are all out of order.

You pay players for performance AFTER you receive services rendered.

Not before.

Mahomes is the best there is right now.

He gets paid AFTER he wins a SB.

Not before.

Brady?

Same thing.

But the Cowboys?

Nope.

We like Dak.

We will overpay Dak becuz Dak has suffered with us and been underpaid for two losing runs into the playoffs.

OMG.

Somebody pour some coffee down the gullets of the Jones and sober them up.

We are about to completely lose this team to their decisions of wanting to make a bad business platform work.

It will not strike oil,Jerrah the WildCat man.

I have one suggestion for Jerrah.

Stop applying oil philosophy to sports.

Dear old fellow, stout ruffianat 8f speed:
You have said what I had in me but could not put it in such forceful terms.
Dak can be a good bus driver in San Dieg .... oops, L.A.
Or I canna see any good for having Dak here for more than 3 years.
Or let him walk, draft Love, Herbert or even J. Hurts.
In the draft:
1st. Run stuffer
2nd. Move heavens for the best edge!

My tears of a clown crowd me vision. I must stop.

Sometimes i think you argue just to argue. In 2011 Eli's cap hit was 11.7% of the total cap

https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/af283d/percentage_of_salary_cap_taken_up_by_super_bowl/
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/02/nfl-quarterback-salaries-salary-cap-kirk-cousins-free-agency

Read about halfway down on the 2nd link
Was Eli’s cap hit not 14 million? Was the salary cap not 120 million? So his cap hit was 12 percent of their salary cap. So basically if Eli was one more percent the Giants wouldn’t have won the Super Bowl?

You can say I’m arguing to argue but it’s a flawed stat that mediots keep using in order to justify not paying quarterbacks. Fact is, these guys haven’t won a ring because their teams weren’t good enough and couldn’t draft well enough.

If the Cowboys are going to sacrifice their ability to draft by giving Dak 35 million than I’d understand your point but that’s not the case.

Dak is no Eli.
Are you, at last, silenced!!!!!
Or at least contrite??
Listen, Wanting Dak is like wanting Mary Ann over Ginger (the actress, louts!)
So I say unto you, Vandal!
And quit using Dak's name with names of Super Bowl winning NFL QBs!!!!

Eli Signed a 6 year 97 million dollar contract in 2009 when the salary cap was 120 million. Cap number was 14 million in 2011. Won a Super Bowl in 2011.

You are quoting my posts in which i am talking about percentage of the cap being taken up by a QB, Eli's cap hit number is not relevant just the percentage of the cap he is eating up. It's not a flawed stat it's just the stat. In the Cap era only 1 team with a QB with a cap hit over 13% of the cap has won the SB and that QB's cap hit was 13.1% only 4 teams with a QB who's cap hit was 11% have ever won the SB. As to your question of whether or not Eli was 12 or 13% of the cap would they have not won, i guess it depends on who else they wouldn't have been able to sign had that been the case, the more you give one player the less you have for other players

Look! Eli and his salary cap hit is not pertinent to anything as compared to
Dak.
After Dak and his brothers win 3 Super Bowls, get back to us, you unsavory but lovable yank.

I just asked myself that question. But it was in the context of "did I just give another @Redball Express the time of day?"

Go take a nap. Hopefully when you wake up you give up this schtick and the old *** Gilligan’s island reference too.

That one percent represents under 2 million dollars.......

That one percent represents under 2 million dollars.......

Ya ok what if that 2m stopped them from signing somebody who helped them win? Maybe it would have or maybe it wouldn't have, still doesn't change the fact that teams that have spent more than 13% of their cap on QB's don't win the SB and only 4 teams have won the SB when spending 11% of their cap on QB's. Those are the numbers to this point. Will it change? will some team spend more than that and win a SB? I'm sure at some point it will happen but even when it does how often will it happen? My bet not very often because if you have to pay 52 men on a roster you can't give 15-18 percent to one guy and expect to properly build a winner, only way around that is to get lucky in the draft and hit on all your picks for a couple of years running

Stop the dramatics, every qb has and will be overpaid. Thats the top spot. The market is what it is. The Lions screwed that over yrs ago with Staffords deal. IDK why cowboy fans are trying to make this about Dak and Jerry. Dak has clearly outplayed Wince, and Goff and theyre making 30+mil AAV so i understand why his agent is asking for more than what they make.

And it seems to me that some of you have no clue how much this new CBA deal is going to explode the cap. Another game, and a new TV deal. Fans are short sighted and dont pay attention or are too lazy to read about whats about to happen.
outplayed Wentz in 2019 so eagles didn't make the playoffs this year?
what about Dak and others flopping in 2017 allowing the eagles to enter the playoffs, and you know the rest after that.

Nothing to add I see.
No reasoned response but when your brain cells jell later, give me a hollah, Jack!
And brings me a dollah!

oh the yr the nfl was on a witch hunt on elliot? Where without them missed 6 games Dallas cruises into the playoffs? You mean that yr?

Oh and 2019

Wentz ended the yr playing the giants Commanders and dolphins at the end of the yr, the same 3 teams people like you criticize Dak for winning. Now its a positive for Wentz in your eyes?

Our mistake was paying the least important position the biggest contract in NFL history not overpaying the most important position.

I’m sick of people Not understanding how the Works. It’s never been an issue for this franchise and it never will be. Too many mathematicians. We know exactly what we’re doing. So I agree with you
If the new CBA is accepted it is going to change teams ability to do that. It will also add roster spots and the salary cap will go up but that's because of the added roster spots.

I with this site had a “down vote” feature... OPs post would be a prime example of the need

wentz did more with less in the final game in 2019. I'm not giving wentz any praise outside of that game.

So you used the wentz was hurt excuses when Dak owned him in 2018 but ignore that Dak was hurt and didnt practice in 3 weeks in 2019. I know everybody accuses you of doing everything u can to come up with excuses for Wentz, but this is the first time im privy to it. Reading so much about it i guess it doesnt come as a suprise but still is.
