Do We Really Need The Circus The Jones Deal Will Bring?

I have made clear the misgivings I have about hiring a thug who has a rap sheet longer than his arm, with two of the incidents still under investigation. I wonder, though, if Jerry Jones has thought about the circus he will bring into Dallas should Jones become a Cowboy.

Does Wade Phillips really need to deal with the kind of day after day questions about Jones starting with the first day of training? It will make the TO hiring look like a Teletubbies show. I believe it was a big reason BP retired. Is Phillips any more ready than Parcells? With two 1st rd. draft picks & a CB draft class second to none, is it really that important to ask for this kind of trouble?

I simply cannot see how Jerry can justify the negative with whatever positives will come out of this. How will his relationship with Commisioner Goodell be affected with the Cowboys being the only team to break ranks & seek a trade for Adams when the other 31 teams passed?

TO had a circus his first year and that was because it was TO. Pacman just isn't that guy that attracts the attention of the cameras. Staying out of trouble in the offseason is Pacman's problem.

Phillips is more than qualified to handle the questioning that signing Adam Jones will bring. The real question is how much of a distraction the questioning will take away from him to better coach the team. Once signed, he'll have to put up with the nonsense. Unfortunately.

Jerry Jones will do whatever it takes to field a winner. That's a given. Another question is whether he truly needed to make this particular move. That is a question which only time will answer.

While I'm not convinced that acquiring him is the right move, I'm also not convinced that Pacman would be a circus in Dallas. At least not of TO proportions.

I actually think Parcells was part of the problem (not all certainly) with the 2006 circus around TO.

Wade is so dog-gone "aw shucks" about everything that he tends to not fuel those kinds of things. Parcells was so tightly wound that it exacerbated things with TO IMO.

Does it really matter? He's appears to be coming so unfortunately we'll have to get used to it.

if he keeps clean most will love him being here if he dosent then what was lost a 6th rounder , maybe?

Newman and Herny both not getting any younger so I dont think if there is a capable corner sitting there that Dallas will pass any ways and do we really want to see 2 corners getting drafted in the first 3 picks????

besides I would love to see Mrfair catch to get a break, gets tiresome looking up into the sun all day.

I think all this gives us is some flexability and anotheoption that wouldnt have been there

Would like to have had Adam Jones on the field for the NYG's 2 min drill at the end of the first half of our playoff game?

If he's there in place of Reeves, How do you think that drive ends?

OK we win that game. Now A Jones goes out on the town and causes a minor disturbance.
We now have to deal with a Pacman distraction.
Is it worth it? I say yes!

Remember the HUGE circus when we signed Tank? Yeah, me either.

If you really think that this will come anywhere close to the TO circus, you are nuts. I'd put it much closer to the attention the Tank acquisition brought.

This is classic Jerry. I'm not sure how well he understands the youth that is on our team right now. They are very talented and Jerry will do anything to push them over the top. But ya i'm not sure how all the extra stuff will go over especially in Big D where the media has its most fun.

Cogan. I hear ya.

Owens is a character.

Jones has character issues.

Big difference.

But looks like it's gonna happen

Jerry Jones thrives on publicity. He loves a circus. That new stadium will be the biggest sports circus the world has ever seen. Jerry likes to make a splash and show his gambling ways. If this deal gets done, it fits right up his alley. Will it work? Time will tell, but Jerry will love every story that comes out of it, good and bad.

I cannot for the life of me understand why the Cowboys or the fans would want this punk here. He has done and said nothing to make anyone other than his own mother believe that he has changed anything about his personality or attitude. In every interview he makes excuses for what happened and has yet to ever take a single grain of personal responsibility for anything he has ever been arrested for.

It has always been a misunderstanding, someone else's fault, someone out to get him, he wasn't there, the chick fell on his fist, whatever, but NEVER his fault or responsibility.

The guy is a waste of time and doesn't DESERVE to be in the NFL, I don't care how talented he is. Why any Cowboys fan would want the guy here is a complete mystery to me but then again I said the same thing about Owens so what the heck do I know.

Please Jerry, restrain yourself and don't make this stupid deal.
