I would have liked Parcells to stay around in a role like he has now in Miami but Jerry was never going to allow that.

Totally agreed! Sparano would have coached this team. Pasqualoni has that Dolphins D 9th in the league for points allowed and 13th for total yards. We're 17th for points allowed and 8th for total yardage. They have the same record as us. You think they're playing with less talent or what? Joey Porter is their most decorated player, wow!

Bill Parcells is a better head coach than Wade Phillips and it isn't a coincidence that the talent skyrocketed when he was onboard.

Also, Bill Parcells never had a decent Quarterback for an entire season when he was in Dallas. Quincy Carter was average and and Chutch was horrible. Drew Bledsoe and Vinny Testeverde were washed up.

I think alot of great things could have happened if Bill Parcells had Tony Romo for an entire season.
Uh, ok.

I happen to disagree. It's all speculation anyway.

Dallas would have been better off offensively is they would have promoted Sporano which was a realistic option. Philips in his 2nd year has turned around the defense, but Red is looking like a failure.

Please... Sparano was alos in-charge of the OL that collapsed against the Giants in the play-offs. It was the same offensive line that folded all throughout December last year. Sparano did nothing for the December collapse with Parcells as coach. Romo committed bone-headed penalties all day against Detroit last year and he was getting pressured all day...Interesting everybody is on the jock of Sparano.. Look what happened the second time this team played new England after thrashing them with the Wildcat? They got whalloped... Parcells 'turned' this team around after his first season here as well... They play in a weak division and have a pathetic schedule....
Put them in the NFC East, they wouldn't squeak 5 wins...

All these Parcells-homers make me laugh.

Sporano was way more qualified to be an offensive coordinator than Garret. He is not perfect, but he is getting alot more out of his offense with lesser talent than Garret. I am not saying that Miami has a better offense, but that they are getting more out of their players.

They do play in a very weak division but you do realize that team was 1-15 last year and share the same record as us. They traded their best player in Taylor and are playing with very young but porous talent. That offensive line other than than Long are one of the worst in the league. Pennington's mobility is reminiscent of Drew Bledslow's when he was with us. They are working miracles down in Miami, regardless of their circumstances. Do you realize they are 4-1 in their last 5? They're just getting better as the season goe's on. They just held a professional football team to 3 points with the atrocious defensive talent they possess. Here we have nothing but excuses and we field Tony Romo, T.O, Roy E. Williams, Jason Witten, Marion Barber, our o-line had 3 pro bowlers last year. Our defense has Demarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff and Terrence Newman. Even the rest of our team should be ableto go toe to toe with theirs. But we have only excuses.

Having Chad Pennington helps tremendously-he may have a noodlearmer, but to me he's always been very underrated. He takes what the D gives him, doesn't do too much, and gets the job done.

Why NY wanted to run him out of town I don't know why.

Some people shouldn't be allowed access to the internet. :bang2:
Parcells met with Drew Rosenhaus before Jerrah did.

He asked various people around the league about TO's work ethic and got rave reviews.

He told Rosenhaus that if the guy played hard for him, he'd sign off.

Just for the record.

This is where all the Parcells-homers put their BLINDERS on. And yes-reports came out in February of that year that Bill P had luncheons on numerous occassions with DR. Peter King also reported that the Joneses asked Parcells on numerous occasions to make sure he was OK with the deal.

BTW-Tuna was desperate. Making this move was no surprise as he knew the window was closing on him in terms of winning another SB.

Garrett did more with this offense than Sparano ever did... And Garrett sucks...

I doubt it, quite honestly. He wasn't that great in December and the playoffs here either so I doubt just the fact of him being here would help us out at all.

14. In the playoff game with Seattle, they were using a free safety who wasn't even in the league the week prior. Did we really attack the middle of the field or run some routes to get the FS to bite one way or the other? NO *ing CHANCE. Tony threw for 189 yards while the next week Rex Grossman almost threw for 300 against the same weak anemic secondary.

This pissed me off the most

Why didn't Romo get some of the blame for this game? On their opening drive, he had Glenn WIDE OPEN on a deep route, but he threw to someone else who was blanketed. And how many times was he off on his throws to open receivers?

Remember Witten's fumble in the 1st half that stalled a drive?

We left potentially 20+ points on the field that night. No-it wasn't Tuna's fault the players weren't executing.

Meh... This is the same poster who hates Jerry and complains about his meddling at every turn... And then says Mark Cuban would be a better owner.

Of course we wouldn't be better with Parcells as coach. He QUIT. He couldn't hack it anymore. And he couldn't even win a division when he was here. Thinking he would do better than what we've done the last two years is revisionist good-ol'-days thinking at its finest.

:bang2:You got me mixed with the wrong Poster!

I HATE Wade Phillips A.K.A. Da Big Doofus as Our Head Coach and the 3-4 Defense!

Just for continuity and stability sake-I say keep him. Honestly, I got sick and tired of all this coaching carosel we had post-Jimmy. Wade is doing a decent job, IMHO-and it's been a rather long process, but slowly but surely the players are starting to buy into his philosophies.

At the very least, let him coach out his contract. If things go down the crapper by the time it expires, then it didn't work out and we can move on to someone else.

This is a good question and I want everyone's opinion, Do Ya'll think this team would be better off if Bill Parcells was still Head Coach?

And this also includes all the coaches and scouting Department people who left for Miami would still be part of the Cowboys.

In my opinion, this team would be much better off and we wouldn't be dealing with all the B.S. we've been dealing with the last couple of years.

What Do Y'all think?

Yes, but I think we'd be in even better shape if Jerry gave him a position like he has in Miami.

However, it looks like they hit a homerun with this years draft and I'm not sure anyone could improve on those results

I don't know if we would be better off with Parcells. I think we'd be better of with Parcells' system.

Parcells, the older version, didn't have what it took to win these players or reach these players.

Parcells, the younger version, would have had this team in the Super Bowl last year. Heck, maybe even Tony Sparano has this team 12-1.

This team doesn't have the discipline that the Miami squad has. And it doesn't play team ball like Miami does. It also has lesser talent than Dallas. So you know the Parcells system works.

I wish we had a coach like Parcells grooming Romo, though.

Romo is an immense talent, but he needs to be handled and protected with a running game. Garrett and Wade have let Romo take over, and I think that may be detrimental to his development.
