I think Wade's egoless enough to accept it, actually. Probably one of the few coaches in the league that would shrug his shoulders and agree.
But I think it's a bad idea. It reminds me of the situation we have with Garrett (making more than Wade, standing over his shoulders), only in the complete reverse almost. I think it sets a strange, potentially disruptive stage for the coaching staff. It begs for people's interests to clash, and for people to wonder if Wade secretly sabotaged [insert new head coach's name here] with certain decisions.
On paper, brilliant idea. Wade's one of the best defensive coordinators going, and if we did fire him, that's going to be damn hard to replace. It's one of the factors we have to consider if we did fire him. But in reality, I think it's a disaster waiting to happen and the drama of it all could negate the actual Xs and Os benefit.

I am still trying to figure out how 6 very good performances over 33 games for this defense turned Wade back into the 'Defensive Guru', lol.
It was 17-3 in Philly before I had my first Jack and Coke done with.
Romo's INT didn't go back for six ya know.
The Eagles still had to drive 42 yards for that TD which made it 24-3.
The defense consistently had meltdowns in key spots as to what their assigments were because of Wade and his 113 defensive packages.
This defense allowed 22 PPG this season.
This defense only had 8 INT's even though it had one of the best pass rushes in the league.
I could care less if he would accept being the D Cor.
If Wade is within 4,000 miles of the Cowboys next season I am disappointed.

I think it would be a great idea and I brought it up a few times. I think it is a good idea for both the Cowboys and Wade and here's why: It is obvious that some discipline needs to be brought to the Cowboys. Wade is not the answer and is better suited as a DC. No team in their right mind is going to hire Wade as a HC again. If Wade becomes the DC, he will not lose any salary, but would just be over the defense, and wouldn't have that monkey on his back. This defense looked great once Wade starting calling the shots.

I could see him going to Def Coord. I think he can see himself doing it.
Its only in the perception of the media and fans that its a demotion. Its just a smart move.
Its unselfish and it would be good for the team.

Funny how everybody was saying Garrett was the real head-coach of this team and Wade was the puppet..
Now Wade gets all the blame....
