Colts Coaching Staff is getting vilified by the fans and the media for bringing in backups in the 3rd Quarter.

Do you think they should have tried to go for the win and continue the undefeated streak?

I say you do what is best for the team.

I think they did what they felt was the right thing for them. I can understand both sides of the debate and tend to lean more towards the Colts coaching staff. Colts have the 1st seed locked and no reason to put Manning at risk. I can promise you many who think the colts were wrong would be all over the Colts should Manning suffer an injury that would cost them the oppertunity at a SB

I thought it was a horrible decision to give up in that game. Peyton wasn't sacked once, and they really weren't even putting much pressure on him. He hasn't missed a game in years and years.

Did you guys get a look at the bench after they pulled him? The Colts players looked like they just lost the superbowl. They were down and dejected. That sort of thing can spill over to future games.

Also, if they give the first stringers a half of football next week, then they have two weeks off, they will have played what amounts to one football game in 5 weeks. 5 fricken weeks.

They might win the superbowl anyway, but I think its the wrong way to go about things.

And the fans???? I'd be going nuts if I paid good money for those seats just to watch the backups play in the 2nd half. The perfect season is on the line, I think they had an obligation to go for it.

And not to mention those nitwits in south florida cracking open the champagne bottles as soon as they say Peyton on the bench.

They did the right thing.

It's hard enough to win it all. It would be even harder with the unneccessary pressure of "going undefeated."

The game is for the Fans. Winning Championships is important, there is no question, but the game is for the fans. If your unbeaten with two games to go in the season, I believe you owe it to the game to try and go unbeaten. If the Colts had already dropped a game and had everything sewn up, then I can understand that but not if you still have a chance to go unbeaten. To me, that is the wrong way to play the game. JMO

I am never a proponent of not giving it 100%. I am convinced they had the Patriots from a couple years ago in mind and didn't want that to happen again. Ill bet a million bucks if the Pats went undefeated AND won the Super Bowl, the Colts would have given 100% yesterday. They were afraid of history repeating itself. It may very well backfire on them.

especially if the Jets get in and knock them out of the playoffs. Bad karma coming back when the Colts could have eliminated the Jets from going to the post-season.

Then again if Manning goes down the Colts have zero chance of winning in the post season. I really can't blame the HC for taking not only Manning out but other key players in the second half. As I mentioned I understand both sides of the debate but if it where my call chances are I would do the same as the Colts did yesterday. I would rather be questioned for taking Manning out than leaving him in and seeing him go down knowing any and all chances went out the window in a game that really had less meaning than the goal teams set out to achive which is the SB

I agree. The Colts ripped off the fans who paid a lot of money to see the starters play and play to win. The opportunity to go undefeated is unique and only comes along once in a great while so to throw it away like that is a ripoff to the fans.

Yes I do. Thanks to their #1 seed, they were guaranteed a week of rest anyway.

I think if the concern was key guys getting hurt and they had already decided the game meant nothing, then they shoulodnt have played them at all.

I also think if they were going to play, play until either you have a comfortable lead or the other teams play is showing signs that your QB is in big trouble.

That said, this years Colts team is the worst 14 win team I think I've ever seen. They look like a 10-6/11-5 type team to me and I wont be all that surprised if they get beat in their first playoff game.

The Chargers have beaten them twice in the playoffs recently and I think they will again this year.

I thought it was absolutely gutless. They had a chance to make history and they willingly flushed it all down the toilet. I felt really bad for Manning, because he was obviously seething on the sidelines.

So what does the head coach do next week? He can't possibly explain playing Manning at all can he? Then your talking 3 weeks between games unless you take the chance on him getting hurt in a game that does actually mean nothing, no history no nothing. Dumb arse decision.

I thought it was stupid. If you're a coach, you owe it to your players to let them decide if they want to go for history or not.

I actually cannot believe he did. If I had to pick a QB not playing for the Cowboys to go undefeated, I would want to see Manning do it.

At this point, I hope it comes back to bite the Colts in the *** just to serve as an example that waving the white flag at any time is a pathetic idea.

Hello? You play to win the game!

I think it was disgusting pulling their starters like that.

If you're up by 2 TD's, you do it, you don't do it when it's that close. Just seemed like a huge puss move.

When you consider that the Manning-era Colts already have one Super Bowl, going for the 19-0 perfect season would have been the right call.

For the Saints, I'd say just try to win a Championship... that's plenty for an organization like that. But this was the Colt's chance to become legendary, and they blew it.
