Yeah, we should give that TO guy a look. :)

I really think we will be OK at WR. We should probably try something new and draft one.

maybe a mid rounder, but not in FA...

give the guys we got a chance...that's what Jerry and Wade said, and until I see otherwise, I will take them at their word...

if we needed another receiver we would have just kept TO...

If robiskie or nicks are on the board at 51, I would go WR.

we need a burner to stretch the field in case Miles Austin gets nicked. I doubt Stanback makes it. It's taken forever for his transition from QB in college. That leaves you with only four NFL caliber WR's in Williams, Crayton, Hurd and Austin. Of those four only Austin can run a sub 4.5 40. So yes we need a speedy guy.

yes, lets be real here Stanback is never going to amount to anything at WR for us and Hurd is only going to get another season cause TO was cut.

I would try and bring in a vet and give Miles Austin every opportunity to show what he has.

I really truly believe he will shine if given the chance.

We are looking at a run first offense in 2009, so we are fine with what we have now. This is one of the luxuries that allowed for T.O.'s release.

When you run first you still have to have something in the passing game to keep them honest. Otherwise it's numbers in the box and that will probably equate to a lot of tough drives/low scoring games.

By getting rid of your biggest weapon on the outside you may have decreased the offensive production from let's say a 30 point average per game to a 21 point per game average. If that's the case your defense now has to work that much harder on their side of the ball to sustain a win.

Hopefully we're looking at another weapon at WR in the draft or FA. I'm not of the opinion that you jut let Hurd and Austin battle for a spot. Give them something proven to compete against in TC.

I don't buy it, if it was that easy they should have been able to run last season too. You can't just turn that kinda stuff on and off and be good at it you need the players and the system to do it. I have my doubts that Garrett can come up with an effective rushing offense and that our O line can block if by some miracle he does

I agree that the games will be low scoring. That's the nature of a strong running game. If it wasn't for our dominant defensive performance last season, I don't think T.O. would have been expendable.

When it comes to the defense having to work harder, It's just the opposite with a dominant running game. They have much more time to stay fresh while the running game eats up the clock.

I think WR is a priority and hope it is addressed with one of our first two picks. Deep class, some intruiging receivers will likely be available to us. And I don't buy into the thinking that it has to be a blazer opposite RW, since he got to prove he's a long-term solution at WR1. Speed or possession, big or small, I just want a player. I know the downside is that it's rare for a non-first round WR to make an immediate impact. I don't care. I want to grow a future WR1 or WR2. I like Nicks, Robiske; I would take a chance on Barden, Tate, Mossoquoi or Stroughter, and I like Knox later and ASU's Michael Jones as a flier.

The running game suffered because Felix was out all season, and Barber was banged up toward the end as well.

As for the O-line, they were struggling with two issues that exacerbated each other. Injuries that made it more difficult to pass block had them exhausted. These guys arent athletic enough to be giving Romo that much time that often. Another reason why we should be running the ball more often.

I agree, we need to look to the draft for a change to build our WR depth. But I wouldn't rule out a FA being brought in as well.

IMO the online had more to do with the running game struggling. The running game was great when Kosier was playing. However I think we still need to address the oline in the draft.
