The running game was great when Kosier was playing. However I think we still need to address the oline in the draft.

This is what I believe to be true as well. I hope we sign some serious O-Line prospects.

I agree that the games will be low scoring. That's the nature of a strong running game. If it wasn't for our dominant defensive performance last season, I don't think T.O. would have been expendable.

When it comes to the defense having to work harder, It's just the opposite with a dominant running game. They have much more time to stay fresh while the running game eats up the clock.

You are correct assuming this works. I'm just skeptical. Hopefully things continue to develop that make that skepticism a thing of the past.

The one player I'd love to get is Oher but no way he falls far enough. He could be Flozell's replacement.

we need a burner to stretch the field in case Miles Austin gets nicked. I doubt Stanback makes it. It's taken forever for his transition from QB in college. That leaves you with only four NFL caliber WR's in Williams, Crayton, Hurd and Austin. Of those four only Austin can run a sub 4.5 40. So yes we need a speedy guy.
You need to look up Roy Williams 40 time.

maybe a mid rounder, but not in FA...

give the guys we got a chance...that's what Jerry and Wade said, and until I see otherwise, I will take them at their word...

if we needed another receiver we would have just kept TO...

I believe they did that already with T.O., Crayton, Austin.

Crayton and Austin (still 2 good WRs) were just not good enough. That's why they picked up Roy Williams.

We need to get another WR.

The good lord willing, we will stay healthy in the running game and on the O-line. Then 2008 will be a distant nightmare.

If he falls and we pass on him, I will have a heart attack.

If RW gets hurt, the starters are Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin. That tandem by itself scares no one, especially if Austin doesn't become what we all want him to be. Dallas absolutely needs to bring in another WR from somewhere, and it needs to be someone who can come in and produce immediately if needed.

What is the cap hit for trading crayton - Can we trade ellis and crayton and pick up a decent pick with the two packaged along with one or two lower picks?

We need to find one...but I think we need a small quick one....that can return punts! Our punt return team has sucked for years! Santana Moss type......you know there is always someone hidden in the middle rounds from schools like Everest College of the Sequioas!!!!! lol

Nope.

ps - WRs are perhaps the most overrated (especially here with a history of great WRs) & easily replaceable position on the team. See Philly with a pass-happy offense. See NE losing with Moss. LOL.

I would try and bring in a vet and give Miles Austin every opportunity to show what he has.

I really truly believe he will shine if given the chance.

I was thinking maybe Amani Toomer, a vet that won't ask for a lot, and doesn't have to be the #1 guy. Maybe sign him to a one-year deal. But that is only if we think we really need to add a wr via free agency.

I Do. do you?

Roy Williams has the flashy name but he looked awful last year. I hope a year makes the difference. The others? We need to do something about the WR spot pretty bad. Crayton, Austin, Hurd are not cut out to be starting WRs. Putting Crayton at #2 takes away what he does really well which is play the slot. Austin? No thanks. Not impressed. We don't have to have a Pro Bowler at every spot but WR is a problem area for us now. None of them are good route runners except Crayton. He's our only decent route runner. That's not good. Holt would be so nice to have. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

That wouldn't be a bad idea.

He knows this division very well and definetely wont stunt anyones growth.

Let me throw another name out there, D Carter.

He is a speedster, and he's relatively young. However, he is coming of an injury.

Depending on his health status, we should take a look.

He's also an unrestricted FA.

of course

boy do i wish we had a 1,000 yard reciever who was good for 10 plus td every yr instead of having to use a low pick on a rookie to provide help

if we only had had that around here... oh wait!
