Do you think the Fumble MB3 had cost him a shot to make the team?

If Jimmy where still here I'd say yes but with BP you never know. So what do you think? He did have some of his best runs after the fumble and for me AT didn't look very good except on a few carries. So who should we keep assuming JJ and TT are there do we keep both or just one? Is it the vet that has some exp or the rookie who will make rookie mistakes?

no way is MBIII in jeopardy. In fact, I think he will be the second string runner.

I dont think he makes the team or not on that one play. I remember Julius fumbling in a preseason game last year. I think the encouraging thing is he came back and ran with good forward lean with both hands on the ball later.

Why would we cut him? he is a rookie.. he will make mistakes. JJ make a couple of fumbles last year early and he didn't get cut.

Agree with everyone else here. Not a chance in hell.

He can play special teams A-train cannot. I say Barber stays A-train goes. Barber showed good bursts last night.

4 RB's will be kept and one FB. Bickerstaff is gone and Thompson makes the team, so does A-Train.

A-Train ran well b/w the tackles the more carreies he had. He's tough inside runner when there are some holes. We will see him play alot in my opinion when we have leads and in the 4th Qt. if not behind to move the chains and control clock.

JuJo is going to be special. But there are times when he rips off a few runs, that it doesn't chew up enough time on the clock and I think BP wants to control the clock to protect the defense this year while they mature.

Therefore, if the run blocking is working and they are getting push, A-Train will be in there. I also think A-Train will be called on to play FB at times. He's big enough and powerful enough in the lower body to play the position and run out of it if needed.

This is why I think we hear BP talking in terms of not carrying many if any FB.

He has guys that can swing back and forth if needed. Such as A-Train. I also thought Polite played well. He's possibly our starter at FB.

Anyone else feel just a little sorry for A-Train? He comes to Dallas to revive what was once a semi-promising young career and he just gets stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time. Parcells may keep 4, and I think that's the only chance A-Train has.

I personally thought that the fumble is precisely what kept Barber in the game last night. I thought that BP wanted him right out there again to see how he'd respond and to get it out of his head as well.

The first 2 or 3 carries by A-Train had me a bit worried. I know the blocking wasn't exactly there, but he seemed kind of slow to the hole, and after a season's worth of George last year, I think we're all a bit hypersensitive to that running style. However, as was stated in a previous post, he definitely did start to get in his groove a few carries in.

My only concern about him is that he seems to be the kind of guy that needs a few carries to get going, and he figures to only get a few per game here. I do concur that he, Barber, and Thompson will all stick though.

It was the way Barber responded after the fumble that will help him keep his job. No way do I want to let this kid go, then play against him down the road. MB3 has incredible balance & tenacity. There were several plays where I thought he was going down, and he picked up another 5-6 yards. I hate those Emmitt Smith types of runners who refuse to go down on the first hit....on another team that is....haha.

No way. He ran well after he got a chewing from Tuna.

Yes he did but he has got to do better about holding on to the ball, there were reports in camp of him fumbling and then having 2 fumbles lastnight. I like the guy but come reg season if he continues to be loose with the football he will find Bills Dog house real quick.

Nope...in fact, I think that's why Parcells put him back in...

If he didn't perform well after that, he would have been in more jeopardy (even though he wouldn't be cut)

I think the fumble may have cost Thomspon playing time because Parcells probably wanted to see how Barber would react to his mistake.

I agree - but that doesn't mean he will be cut. He will be with this team next TC.
