Do you think the team regrets Murray leaving

Hear me out first....isn't it true that the coaches and players didn't want Murray to leave? even in the last days before Murray's departure he was with Romo and Garrett at a hockey game or something?

Also didn't Murray buy a billboard thanking the fans of Dallas for the times he was here?

and lastly after this past season, weren't we involved in trade discussions with Murray before he ultimately went to Tennessee?

This could be a telling sign for the upcoming draft, that the team did regret his departure.

bash away...

Many on the team wanted him to stay.

He decided to move on for more money.

Maybe they regret not paying him more to stay we don't know.

What I DO know is that Murray regretted signing with the Eagles and Chip Kelley.

lol of course they wanted to keep him, but not at that cost.. Romo-Murray-Dez & that o-line had amazing chemisty.. It's over though, so move onto the next one.. It's looking like Zeke could be your guy

Murray thought he was worth more than Dallas was willing to pay...that simple, I think. They'll draft a young RB at some point (mid round, most likely) and work him in with Morris and McFadden.

The team never wanted Murray to leave. They made an offer to keep him, he chose to leave for more money.

The Cowboys wanted to keep Murray but not at a high price. They felt their OL was the primary reason he was so productive and felt just about any back or a combination of backs could keep their running game consistent and in the top 5 and they were wrong.

They really wanted him to stay.............. at their price.

They had a chance to get him back after this past season and decided not to.

I don't think they sit around though lamenting the loss of Murray.

Not at all, esp w/Romo being out most of the season. We had no chance @ post season either way.

No doubt they wanted to keep him. They spoke with the Eagles (and maybe Murray) about a reunion this offseason before Murray was traded to the titans.

Both sides acted like a teenagers relationship when they had a big fight and both sides are too proud to call the other one first.

My personal feelings are that Stephen Jones wants to prove to the league owners that he isn't just a spoiled brat who is inheriting a team from his wildly successful daddy. He is looking to show everyone he is the smartest man in the room. He ignored Dez, Romo, Garrett, and convinced Daddy to stand behind his decision.

They regret not replacing him with a rookie last year. But no, they didn't want to pay him that much money because they know he's not that good. One year wonder who never did anything like that before, and never will again.

I think the Cowboys missed him last year...and if they could have kept him last year for just 1 year, they would have done so happily. But instead they used the franchise tag on Dez. But the Cowboys brass was also realistic - how long was his punishing style going to last? With him being 27, the wheels would likely fall off pretty quickly, and they didn't want to continue to pay for diminishing returns past this last season.

So, ultimately, despite the abortion last year was, I'm glad they moved on. Now they can get a guy who will be better for longer in Zeke. And, as I have stated ad nauseum on this site, that's what I think I think the Cowboys are thinking....though, I very well could be wrong...

How were they wrong? We had the #4 rusher in the NFL last year and that was without any help from the QB and WR positions that 29 was afforded. If anything, I think last year proved the FO correct. At the very worst, one can only determine that the jury is still out. 29 was not the reason our running game was so good in 2014. He was part of the equation but so was Romo and Dez... We have yet to see what our running game will be without 29 but with Romo and Dez in the game all together. And I for one think it will be just fine, as I have said many many times, 29 was nothing special.

He did "that" before his 1800 yard season.

What are the Eagles doing with the way they structure contracts that lets them sign Murray, and Maxwell and then trade them a year later? Now they are rumored to trade Bradford who they just signed for 2 more years.

Are they about to be in cap hell or are they doing something we could be doing for veterans to reduce the risk of a long term disaster contract,.
