No, Murray fell off as expected. Murray should rebound a bit to about 900 yards this year but not really a factor moving forward.

Hear me out first....isn't it true that the coaches and players didn't want Murray to leave? even in the last days before Murray's departure he was with Romo and Garrett at a hockey game or something?

Also didn't Murray buy a billboard thanking the fans of Dallas for the times he was here?

and lastly after this past season, weren't we involved in trade discussions with Murray before he ultimately went to Tennessee?

This could be a telling sign for the upcoming draft, that the team did regret his departure.

bash away...

Nope.....they saved over 20m

Sorry, but if an NFL team goes 1-11 without its starting QB, there are major issues with the surrounding talent and coaching.

There are numerous teams last year that won games with their backup QBs, including the SB Champs who lost their starting QB for half the season.

Injuries are part of the game, not excuses..........the good teams find ways to win when their starter goes down, the bad teams just cry about it.

Not when their top 3 guys are missing on offense. You can't name a single team that lost their number 1 WR and their number 1 QB and still did something.

Sure you can find teams missing their QB but WR and RB is their, or missing their RB but QB and WR are fine. Plus OL had nagging injuries from preseason they battled.

Wait, Murray left? Why isn't anybody talking about this?

Unfortunately, this conversation will never end because it is part of Jerry Jones's legacy..,..the Great Destroyer.

Three good teams were built for him by jimmy Johnson Bill Parcells and even Jason Garrett with assistance from Stephen Jones and the scouting department.

Three times Jerry tried to take over for the credit. Three times the great team came crashing down in record time.

He ran Jimmy and Bill out with his stupidity. Jimmy's team could have won 5 consecutive Super Bowls, they were seriously that dominating. It took only three season to turn into losers. Took the same amount of time to turn Parcell's team's potential into trash. He's perfected the skill. This time it only took a single offseason to turn the team over to thieves, woman beaters, and dopers.

It wasn't DeMarco Murray that was responsible for 2014, it was his health. Heck, DeMarco was a dominant back from day #1. He ran for 248 yards in his first start. He ran for over 700 yards in his first 7 games as a rookie and that team goes to the playoffs in Jason's first season as Head Coach if he doesn't get hurt.

Injury prone my ***! Only one Oklahoma Sooner player this century played in more college games. How do you play 53 college games and be "injury prone"?

That offensive line was so bad in 2011 that the next season, every position was manned by a different player. And then they got worse. Nobody freakin' remembers that? Almost every single skill player missed at least a third of the season. Murray took a beating while this offensive line was developing with rookies that would eventually be Pro Bowlers, but were rookies nonetheless.

And yet, after three seasons, before the emergence of the Elite Line That Could Make An Average Back Look Like A Superstar.......he averaged 4.95 yards a carry.

Morris is an upgrade? Please! He's got the versatility of a bedpost. 12 receptions a season? Are you kidding me? Every season, Murray had more receptions than Morris had in his entire career. A back that can catch will slow down a pass rush, make them cautious as hale.

This team had triplets and Jerry Jones's disrespect for the running game and what it can do for the overall health of every other squad was the dagger that ended the short life of what could have been a dominant run.

One more reminder:

Yeah, let's listen to his drivel.

Oh, I fully agree with your take. What's even more damning is the fact that we have had a HOF level QB playing for us for the last 10+ years and haven't done jack squat with our good fortune. Think about it, the team has not had to worry about its starting QB for the last decade and still couldn't manage to put a team around him that could win. I consider this last ten year stretch to be one of the greatest failures in the history of professional sports, absolutely inexcusable.

Outside of Witten what did Parcells do here? Sean Payton and David Lee found Romo, and Jerry was the one who decided to draft Ware.

no it wasn't. not in the slightest of fashions. McFadden had a decent season nothing like Murray

Dmc had a really nice year for starting out behind underwear joe and having stacked boxes with weeden and TWill as the main air attack. Demarco wouldn't have done that much better and costs like 5 times more.

It was perfectly obvious when Murray was allowed to depart for financially greener pastures that we liked Murray but not enough to give him the $$ he coveted. There are several RBs that should be available to us in the mid rounds this year who might readily play well enough to help us forget about Murray's departure.

The Eagles just showed everyone in this Forum how hard it is to get out of a bad contract. If that is what you are scared of.

DAL using the salary cap as reason not to pay Murray was a joke then and is a joke now.

Murray was perfect for this team and this OL.

He decided to chase money and turn his back on his team mates. I don't think anyone can fault him for it, but I'd guess very few miss him.

I know people think if he was here he would've had a better year but I think he Cowboys are content with their decision and were proven right. They believed Murray would fall off and that anyone could run behind this line and they were pretty much right on both accounts.

When mcfadden ran for over 1000 yds in 9 starts, i think that reinforced their notion that almost any back can gain meaningful yds behind this line
