Do you want Bill Parcells to retire after this season?

Just wanted to know how many of you are following these retirement reports with your fingers crossed in hopes that it's true...
And how many are, like myself, praying that he returns.

I for one believe he will return and hope he does.
Wishing for BP to retire would be the biggest mistake a Cowboys fan could make right now, IMO.

The only way I would want him to retire after this season is if we win the SB.

I don't want him around too long but I also don't want him to leave unless we have someone worthwhile waiting to replace him. My fear is that if he did retire after this season Jerry would promote Mike Zimmer to HC and that would be disasterous IMO.

I would rather see Zimmer and Payton get jobs elsewhere and Bill hire new coordinators.

Heck No!!!

The question you have to ask yourself is who would be available?

Right now, he has changed this team so much, especially defense, that he needs to stick around and finish the project.

Big Bill in 2006!!!

I agree, he could walk away only if we win the SB, which right now seems to be kind of a long-shot.
My concern is that he just might be seriously thinking retirement, or probably worse, headed to another organization. BP and his true, closest friends may be the only folks who really have an inkling what he'll do after January. If BP does leave, please, Jerry, no more puppets. We all know how that worked.

I think when Bill retires he will play a part in helping Jones pick his successor. I also think that it will be someone already on staff because I don't think Dallas will want to start at square 1 with a new coach and yet another system.

No way. Parcells may not be the best play calling coach in the league, but he commands respect. That's something we had been missing too long around here since Jimmy was pushed out. I don't want to get back in that situation. I think Jerry has learned his lesson tho, so I'm a little hopeful his next hire will be more in the Parcells mold than the Switzer, Gaily, Campo hires..

No! Young, and with the vets,he's put together
a team to compete now,and assembled enough
youth,to compete beyond.I hope this team never has
to go thru what Jerry did since Jimmy left.We have
a real coach, yeah,he's a horses' ***,but he has given us fans
something to cheer about.

I don't want him to retire, I'd like to see what he can do in a 4th year. For me though that's it, if he can't make this team a legitimate playoff team and superbowl contender then he needs to go. He has this team pointed in the right direction, but he must get it over the hump and into the playoffs. He isn't getting paid to win more regular season games than Campo, he's getting paid to get this team to the playoffs and the superbowl.

NO it would be a disaster if he walked away, which he will not. Why build this team up and then walk away.
Well, I guess a barrage of BP retirement threads is better than "TO to Dallas" and "what QB to bring in" threads are.

No way - this year I think is the closest he has had to the team he wants. Next year with a bit of experience for the younger players , some fine tuning to our new 'D' scheme and depth added on the O-line it will be a better season.

If we don't make the playoffs I can't believe he would walk away like that.

You need another option..................HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!

If we beat STL on sunday and we get some help, in his 3 years BP wouldve produced two 10-6 Playoff seasons in his 3 years coaching!!!!!!!
Thats a 26-22 record as our head coach in his three years. Keep BP!!!!!!!!!!!!

No

The last game was very big IMO. It showed that this team has heart and fight...even in the face of adversity.

I believe that Parcells is just on the front end of building a winner. I hope he stays 5-6 more years.

i said months ago that i believe will quit/fired/forced out
after this season under the guise of health reasons.
I for one would be thrilled. People ask who would you replace him
with, (ain't my job, just don't like the one we got)
There a plenty of qualified coaches out there. Charlie W.
should have been given a shot ,Romeo Crennel, alot of
college coaches want to move up, that deserve a shot at the big leagues.
Bill Parcell doesn't need to coach another day, all he needs to do
is bottle the BS that most of yall have swallowed and he would be RICH
 26-22 sucks :bang2:
