Does 9 wins guarantee a playoff spot

I figured that we'd have an x by our standings. With 9 wins, that should guarantee us at least a playoff spot.

Without going into the crazy math of interpreting wins and losses of the other teams in contention, I can't see how we're not in already.

A win against Washingmachine should guarantee that.

And I'm not talking about teams that would have to win out.
Thinking we need to get to 11 wins.

Not mathematically but in all probability starting off 9-1 leads to the playoffs.

The division, a bye and home field throughout are all still very much up in the air.

That's what I was thinking. I also remember the Panthers winning their division at 7-9 a few years ago.

But even if the disastrous occurs, and we lose out ... 9-7 should still secure a wildcard spot for us.

If they are going into the playoffs with a 9-7 record then the prospects of winning a playoff game won't look good.

No, it guarantees 14th place in the NFC. SF and CHI with 8 losses are the only teams Dallas cannot fall behind in the standings.

Looking at it from another perspective, to me it's a moot point. If we stay stuck on 9 wins the rest of the season, we won't do anything in the playoffs whether we make it there or not.

It pretty much guarantees we make the playoffs barring an absolute meltdow. This isn't just 9 wins, it is 9 wins in 10 games

A very nice cushion though! Get 4 out of the next 6 and it should be enough for the #1 seed.

Yeah ... I figured NFL Network would have put the x next to our standings.

But we more than a third of the season remaining. Splitting 3-3 would be a disappointment. We need to hit the post season on a roll.

I think the two teams we need to worry about most are the Skins and Gnats. Those could be our two possible losses.

This website has our chance of making the playoffs at 99%, winning the division at 84%, and getting a bye in the playoffs at 79%. The Cowboys are going to the playoffs, what they do when they get there has yet to be determined. Let's hope our regular season magic continues all the way into February.

The Giants still have to go to Pit, Philly, and Wash, they are barely getting by bad teams, they easily could have lost the last two games.

Every team in the NFC minus the Bears and 49ers could still win 10+ games. Not saying they will of course, but it is possible.
