Does anyone think JJ Wilcox will get benched?

Does anyone see him being benched in favor of Heath at some point this season? Or is that just trading one poison for another?

i am hoping he will make that mental leap but sometimes he looks so lost out there,i dont thin he is a good FS candidate.

I could see it happen if Wilcox seems to keep on being lost on the field. Not sure its an upgrade or a downgrade, probably more of a lateral move.

Agree he should be called out after that performance.

Wilcox was so good at Senior Bowl practices, I had really high hopes for him.

He did come from a small school so maybe he's one of these 3 year guys, but he's looked pretty bad.

He's at no point in his life shown the ability to play defense well. Yet he's the Dallas Cowboys starting FS. Think about that.

The fact of the matter is that he shouldn't have been drafted as high as he was and he should have never been asked to play so early. You don't go from playing D2 WR/RB to playing FS in the NFL in the matter of 2 years. And the fact that our front office didn't/and still doesn't recognize this sums up a lot.

Growing pains. Still amazed he was the "Best option" in the 3rd round...

No. People tend to forget Wilcox played safety just one year in college and had an injury interrupt his rookie season a year ago. Let's give this kid a little more time; because he's a faster and much more athletic option back there than Jeff Heath.

They both suck. Meanwhile Philly upgrades in one offseason with Malcolm Jenkins.

This has always befuddled me. Dallas seems to be the only team in the league that can't get right at S. Other teams shuffle players in and out all the time and get solid results. Whether it's a vet signing or a draft pick. It's been a decade since Woody retired. I can only recall 2-3 seasons of good play from either S position. Roy gave us 2 good years and Hamlin his first year was solid. It's largely been a disaster outside of those 3 seasons

And Jenkins isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He'll be a good player at least another two years

He's not faster than Heath.

Heath has problems to be sure, but he is ok in the speed department.

Ga southern is not a d2 school smh. Sun belt conf is a D1 school. Meanwhile, Heath went to Saginaw Valley which is a D2.

Every single draft source thought he would go around where we took him. Your post couldn't be any more incorrect.
