Why isn't anyone talking about Foster. He's had a good career and only 26. Has been a solid MLB ans I think he woukd be a better Sam.

Right and the media isn't saying anything. Just wonder if we can get him cheap and resign McClain. I think foster would be an upgrade over carter.

Just like Marinelli doesn't value the 1 as much as the other spots. He doesn't value the sam as much as the other LB spots.

Right but he's been sitting our there I just wonder his value. Also he played MLB in Tampa.

According to this, he doesn't fit the scheme. Poor in pass coverage.

Mason Foster
, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Age: 26, Height: 6-foot-1, Weight: 241.
Foster is a middle linebacker who has started ever since his rookie year in 2011, showing nice potential (a total of 281 tackles, five interceptions, six sacks and two forced fumbles in his first three years). However, Foster battled minor injuries last year and reportedly wasn't a great fit in new coach Lovie Smith's Tampa 2 defense, which calls for the middle linebacker to be heavily involved in pass coverage. That could make him a younger, cheaper version of Lofton. The Saints have expressed interest, according to NOLA.com's Larry Holder.

Right which is said why I think he would be a better Sam here. His price tag must be high right now because I haven't heard his name with any team.

It's the same scheme. He would have to cover more at the Sam too.

Need another nickel LB. Mcclain isn't great in coverage, Lee is very good when healthy. Need another 3 down LB type and I don't know if Hitchens is going to be great in coverage either so I don't think thats where he will make his money. If Mcclain is resigned to play Mike and Lee for Will, that leaves Hitchens for Sam. Foster would either push Hitchens to backup Sam/Mike or he would be backup Sam/Mike and that still leaves the need for a nickel LB. I think its more likely they look for a versatile LB who won't start, but plays good in coverage personally.

Personally I dont think they resign Mcclain unless the $ is right for them. I think they look to the draft for a 3 down MLB type in the 1st 3 rds

Good consistent player in the mold of a Curtis Lofton type. Always on the field. I don't know if he has the persona of a RoMac which may be why he is out there. He is ice tea when your looking for a Long Island ice tea.

Foster is a tackle to tackle LB who cannot drop in the manner that a Tampa 2 MLB needs to. He's a lot like Robert Jones when he was a Cowboy.

For depth?
I do think you need 4-5 starter quality LBs given that our starters might include Lee and McClain.(along with Hitchens)
Not sure Foster fits the bill, but I'm sure they have a wish list.
McClay is pretty thorough
