Does Mike Zimmer have some vitriol towards the Cowboys/Jerry Jones?

You know for passing him on the head coaching position the last 15 years? I can't help but think some of his comments today regarding AP has to do with his strong desire to not let him go to the Cowboys b/c he's pissed he was never offered the job.

I know he didn't like Parcells for a while. Never heard anything about the team or Jerry though.

I bet he's simply reiterating his GM's attitude towards the situation. I doubt Mike Zimmer went off the pasture over Adrian Peterson because of his "hatred" or perceived anger to his former employers.

I see it as a coach being tired of the media members constantly asking him the same thing over and over again and that type of comment fitting his personality. I think anything added to it to somehow connect it to him being mad at Jerry pretty far fetched and humorous but that is just my opinion.

Have you ever thought of working for TMZ? Half joking , but seriously, Minnesota doesn't want to give away their best player, no matter that AP no longer wants to play for Minny.

So..

If he no longer wants to play for Minny, how long do you think it will be before this comes to a head? He's pissed that the organization didn't support him through his process and has totally soured to the prospect of suiting back up for them. I hope you all don't realistically think he's just going to say ho hum and report to camp. This is going to be fun to watch from afar and the end result may be spectacular for us.

That's a huge stretch. If I was Zimmer and had the backing of ownership I would be saying the exact same thing. AD is under contract with the Vikings. Why would they want to trade him to a strong NFL team like the Cowboys? Especially knowing they got burned in the Walker trade.

that completely and utterly ridiculous if you think that, this is the NFL, not some school yard child spat....AP is not going anywhere, he's under contract, has no leverage, he can pout like a child he beat all he wants, it's not going to get him anywhere.... people need to move on to something else..

And Zimmer should have been hired to be the head coach after Parcells..IMO

I agree that Zimmer should have been the head coach instead of Wade. Also, Zimmer has always had a fiery and angry attitude. He is not afraid to speak his mind and there has been speculation that this is what kept him from being hired as a head coach for a long time for any team.

The more I think about it, I really think the Vikings are really just going to sit on AP. If they trade him to the Cowboys it may feel like they "lost" this battle.

This all might come down to a principle act. If they give in to APs demands this creates a domino effect. Displaying that if you whine and pout enough that you get what you want.

Just my .02 cents

Well, I'm pretty sure Vikings fans do not want to see the reverse of a Hershel Walker trade, where we get the star RB and go on to win SBs, so it may be him reflecting how the fan base feels.

You are a very cogent poster. This was immediately recognized and noted by yours truly. That's not a compliment.

You may be right but it will be fun to see how it all unfolds. The Cowboys aren't done looking for a bell cow RB and a trade with another team may happen if the AP/AD drama doesn't pan out. For now, I'm going to keep right on dreaming. I want that carrot!!!

Reading the board the last few months, I know the feeling.
