Does Randy Gregory even care?

Not gonna go back and forth anymore. To convince an older person that something they were told and society deemed true for their whole life is not in fact true, is almost an impossible task. Let alone on a forum behind a keyboard.

As societies progress norms that were established based on information available become disproven. Things like interracial marriages seen negatively, alcohol abolition, AIDS only being transmitted by same-sex relations, are all backed by false “facts” and always end up getting disproven over time.

As more information becomes available and time passes society is able to grow and sift through propaganda and get to the truth. Older lawmakers pass or retire and a new generation of legislators take their seats in government and are a reflection of current societal ideals, not those of generations past. Naturally new laws come to place and things that where once outlawed become normal.

This is just the nature of society, and seldom if never are old thoughts rooted in suppressed information proven to be true in the eyes of history. Weed is one of those things. It’s already legal in some capacity in 33 states and counting (multiple states introducing bills in 2020). Whether you like it or not this upcoming generation of officials will finish ushering in the laws that make this legal nationally, and you older folk will be on the wrong side of history once again. Just like with so many social issues that have plagued this amazing country.

I will no longer attempt to convince any of y’all lol you guys are fighting a losing battle as majority of states are already pro-pot.

PS- everyone reacts to weed different and should only smoke relative to what is a healthy amount for them. Anything can be abused and everything in life requires moderation
You think this is progress?

Do you have any idea how hard it is to hire well-adjusted young people today? I try. I seriously try. But they can't hang. They're ill-equipped.

What you're seeing today is the opposite of progress. It's massive regression, which is why people like me are FORCED to outsource so much of our operations to places where people still know how to work and solve problems without drama.

And I am interracially married, and I've never known a straight person that died of AIDS who wasn't a drug addict or got a transfusion. And the people that were around for abolition are all dead or not posting on the internet, so might want to bone up on your chronological history.

But I digress.

If you’re in heaven one day and look down at the US going to crap because of weed. Then I’ll have to owe you one.

Most likely though the U.S. will be just fine as us millennials are leading the tech revolution which is where jobs and employment is heading. Millennials might not be fit for the world YOU grew up in or maybe even the world at this exact point. But the world you saw growing up and the world now (we are in a generational transition right now) is not the world that I’ll be living in in 20 years.

Ever stop to think that the generations after you are pushing the world to work how they want it? Ever stop to think that the world is going to be one built for the next generations not the previous? I’d love to see you try to get a job in 20 years in an industry that doesn’t even exist right now and see how incompetent they think you are.

World is changing man don’t be one of those guys who holds onto how the world used to be

It is a great danger to others. See if you can find a copy of a book by Berenstein. ( I think that's about right). Weed is causing pyschosis and other issues and people are killing their family members because they think they're demons. And it's also causing wrecks and lives to be lost thereof, but they don't test for it. It's starting to come out that it's actually much worse than thought.

Most of the propaganda ironically is coming from the pro-weed people.

You mean the book by Berenson called Tell Your Children?

That book has widely been panned by scientists, researchers, etc. He used anecdotal evidence and limited data to reach a conclusion that not many experts agree with. The biggest issue is that he recounted "crimes" committed by people who have smoked pot and made the instant assumption that pot caused the crime. He also cited a study by the National Academy of Sciences that he said claimed pot use and psychosis and link between the two is settled science, when in fact, the study said no such thing. He purposely left out large sections and important points in that National Academy of Sciences study that undermined his points. Berenson failed to mention that there are many studies that show the flow is actually the other way........... those that suffer from psychosis are pulled towards marijuana, not the other way around - that pot causes psychosis. That was even mentioned in the National Academy of Sciences study that Berenson cherry picked his information from.

He also misrepresented another source of information - a book called Home Grown: Marijuana and and the Origins of Mexico's War on Drugs. The author of that book came out and said Berenson misrepresented what he had written in his own book.

So I'd be a bit hesitant to start propping up Berenson's book as some sort of scientific study or analysis that proves what you think it proves.

And for the record, I don't smoke weed, have never smoked weed. If the research shows it's very dangerous, I would have no issues with keeping it illegal. But based on what i have read and the studies from actual scientists, the anti-weed crowd has largely overstated their case here. That doesn't mean I don't think more research needs to be done on this or that it's settled science that pot is fine.

I run a business with 30+ people in my IT department that report directly to me. I serve on a board for another company. You have no idea whom you're trying to preach to.

I'll be just fine, and I would be 20 years from now. Because I'm not afraid to work. Nobody could outwork me in a hundred years.

And I'm raising my kids to do the same, and they are.

There are many legal substances that are banned for use while you are in the NFL. It doesn't matter if marijuana is legalized everywhere, the NFL could still choose to keep it as a banned substance if it so pleased.

He’s nothing but a waste of time pothead. I can’t believe he’s still associated with the organization.

Says the guy hiding behind his keyboard and monitor. You'll never know why a person does what they do unless you walk a day in their shoes. If you have an issue with the guy, say it to his face. Thought so....

This is one stupid post. My issue with him is he’s a pothead that’s wasting a career. It makes no difference to me other than the fact he plays (and I use that term loosely) for the team I support.

Randy is probably not even the guy who does it, jerry probably has people who does it for him.

he cares plenty ...

Oh my god lmao these guys. This is straight out of reefer madness hahahaha
I"m only speaking of documented cases. I don't fall for the hoopla and propaganda spread by either side. You'd do well to do the same.

To convince a younger person that the facts concerning their drug are not good is even harder. You've bought into one side. Congrats, you've joined a cult. Now go cut your feet off and wait for the aliens!!!!

It's hard to convince when you also end up using half baked concepts, incomplete data, cherry picked information, etc.

Which is what both sides are guilty of in major ways.

I was responding to a cheap insult the other dude decided to throw. Mostly, when someone gets to that point they're conceding that they've lost.

WE can all agree there are rules in place in life, whether we agree with them or not is irrelevant. FACTS ARE, RANDY KNEW WHAT HE SIGNED UP FOR.. Its not like the rules were changed after we signed him. He is the one responsible for his actions and choices. Life is a journey, where you either learn from your mistakes by not repeating them, and being a better person ..or NOT. To date, he falls into the NOT category...but he can change that...its on him and him alone in the end. Football be damned...that's secondary. But I will say this, its not a good business model paying a player and being woefully loyal as such...even if the guy barely plays....seems fruitless and without merit. He should be cut if hes not cleaned up his act enough to apply for reinstatement..again..thats the business of it. FAIR OR NOT..IS BESIDES THE POINT.

BY THE WAY, some posters on here wanna cry unfair and move the goal posts concerning Randy. Newsflash...life generally doesn't work that way. Grown men and women adapt and evolve..or get left in the dust. Everyone is faced with choices like this often in life....SO THE CHOICES ARE SIMPLE. Control your vices, or don't play the sport that happens to be your profession that supports yourself. NOT SAYING I LOVE THE POT RULE...just sayin, the rule is there, and has been from day 1. Until its not , he must abide.
