You think this is progress? Not gonna go back and forth anymore. To convince an older person that something they were told and society deemed true for their whole life is not in fact true, is almost an impossible task. Let alone on a forum behind a keyboard.
As societies progress norms that were established based on information available become disproven. Things like interracial marriages seen negatively, alcohol abolition, AIDS only being transmitted by same-sex relations, are all backed by false “facts” and always end up getting disproven over time.
As more information becomes available and time passes society is able to grow and sift through propaganda and get to the truth. Older lawmakers pass or retire and a new generation of legislators take their seats in government and are a reflection of current societal ideals, not those of generations past. Naturally new laws come to place and things that where once outlawed become normal.
This is just the nature of society, and seldom if never are old thoughts rooted in suppressed information proven to be true in the eyes of history. Weed is one of those things. It’s already legal in some capacity in 33 states and counting (multiple states introducing bills in 2020). Whether you like it or not this upcoming generation of officials will finish ushering in the laws that make this legal nationally, and you older folk will be on the wrong side of history once again. Just like with so many social issues that have plagued this amazing country.
I will no longer attempt to convince any of y’all lol you guys are fighting a losing battle as majority of states are already pro-pot.
PS- everyone reacts to weed different and should only smoke relative to what is a healthy amount for them. Anything can be abused and everything in life requires moderation
Do you have any idea how hard it is to hire well-adjusted young people today? I try. I seriously try. But they can't hang. They're ill-equipped.
What you're seeing today is the opposite of progress. It's massive regression, which is why people like me are FORCED to outsource so much of our operations to places where people still know how to work and solve problems without drama.
And I am interracially married, and I've never known a straight person that died of AIDS who wasn't a drug addict or got a transfusion. And the people that were around for abolition are all dead or not posting on the internet, so might want to bone up on your chronological history.
But I digress.
