What year should Dallas have won the Super Bowl?

Please answer my question first before attempting diversion

Not a single conference CG appearance in 10+ years of starting QB role

Not one

That is not great QB play

Is he one of the best players in franchise history? I think he is.
Can you tell the story of the Dallas Cowboys without mentioning him? I don't think so.

I can understand why some wouldn't think that he should be in - lack of big playoff wins. As was mentioned earlier, Don Meredith won one playoff game as a Cowboy quarterback. I understand the reason for Meredith being in is that he was the QB who led the Cowboys to their initial greatness, and started the machine that went 20 consecutive seasons without a losing season.

Romo restored credibility for the franchise at the QB position after it was a disaster for 5 seasons. I think he belongs in the ROH.

Tony Romo most certainly belongs on the Cowboy RoH. Thats where he belongs and the sooner the better. Tony was a truly Great Cowboy. Its not just about being a Great player or QB. He was a rare player and person. He gave his all in spite of tough odds and, well, a poor GM and HC. I was never a big fan of his playoff results...but l really believe he belongs with the Great Cowboys on the RoH.

Nope - Here's your sign - Bill Engvall

At least that was the first thing that popped in my head reading the original post

I don't watch much TV so I have no idea who Bill Engvall is or what he does............but I will say that I am surprised there are as many "no" votes in this thread. I would have though 90%+ would say yes, Romo should go in the ring.......but that is not what this thread is showing.

Interesting..............appears the biggest reason given against putting Romo in the ring is lack of playoff success, but Dandy Don is in the ring and he only has one playoff win so I do see how that can be the standard to be used.

In all seriousness, if playoffs wins is going to be the benchmark, then nobody in the last 20 seasons will get in.

In a league that does nothing but throw the football....that means very little. Besides...before Romo...this franchise as never been about #'s. It's been about Wins. Hence the records you speak of are very pedestrian numbers compared to the rest of the NFL.

I'm sorry. I thought the question was in regards to THE DALLAS COWBOYS ring of honor and not the pro football hall of fame.

I loved Romo. He shouldn't go into the ring of honor. Jerry needs to install a "ring of honorable mention"

Exactly...

Putting him in there would really be lowering the standard to get in.

The guy is responsible for some of the lowest points in Cowboy history. And he hasn't won jack squat.o_O

Well, I don't know. I mean granted, he probably played the position better than any QB ever to wear The Star, but c'mon 2 playoff wins? It's not like you can blame that on mediocre defenses.

I hear that Staubach & Aikman dude were pretty decent.

Aikman, Emmitt, Staubach, Irvin, Landry, Romo. Which name seems out of place on that list?

He will get in. Does he deserve it? No. He's not a Cowboys legend. He accumulated a whopping two wild card ( Only) wins in ten plus years. Fairly or unfairly, I will remember Cabo and the botched snap. I'll remember 44-6 & the pick six in Washington. Good player who was never truly great.

Based on what this franchise has BECOME...he will probably get in. Like I have said before...there are people who feel like this past season was a success.

I think Tony was a really good player. But 2 playoff wins.....is 2 playoff wins. Heck Danny White played in 3 STRAIGHT NFC TITLE GAMES...and he will never get it in. Let that sink in for all the people who think last year was a success or Romo deserves to be in the ROH!
